Blame P3P for the side subject this week, though a tad bit of blame probably should go to commish as well.  😁

As much as I hate to do this, but this week looks like a chalk kind of a week no cuts, all the best players...Bombers gonna bomb!

Guys who you really want to latch onto that others might not pick

Westwood first event

Rose first event so that would push them out for me but this looks like a tourney you could see them on the front of the leaderboard.  Only a few top players not playing. Casey,Spieth, Michelson, and Tiger, and this being Wednesday the day after Tiger's accident, I would like to say I pray Tiger is going to be ok to enjoy life with his family at the very least, and perhaps come back to finish off his career in some way or fashion. I haven't heard any more news today and almost do not want to hear any. I am a huge fan of watching Tiger thrill crowds on a golf course.  Not even Jack could hold a crowd's attention as early in his career as Tiger. Palmer was the only fan favorite that elevated the PGA in popularity, that Tiger brought to new levels, he also led the fitness boom on the PGA tour, Palmer and Woods both had a swashbuckling style that captivated the casual fan. He wasn't a "fan person" early on, but the body broke down, he made some bad choices, but became approachable, and I pray the vape pen in California did not contribute to his accident, but I am willing to bet it might have. No knocks just an educated guess. He has back issues and legalized weed is a match made in heaven. Combine that with medications and you get sleepy drivers. Again, not a criticism but he should have known better by now if that is what happened.  Not saying it was and I pray it was just an unavoidable accident.  It's 10.23 est here and I haven't been on social media or listened to ESPN this morning taking care of pee stains on Dad's bed, filling the med tray, and getting them fed take some time LoL. All the while Mom's chirping in the adjacent room "bring the dust buster, bring the dust buster." Oh No!  I have to step away, she just dumped stuff on the floor...coffee all over the oriental rug, defcon 4!  She just said "I don't know how the walker went forward and that happened." Maybe it was one of her hallucinations the guy in the dining room knocked it over. But yes as Ferris Bueller once said:  "  Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.Jun 11, 1986"

Back to the WGC Workday.

I was mentioning Fleetwood and Rose.

I am so tempted to go with a European trio of Rose, Fleetwood and Hovland but I am not that gutsy. First time for Westwood and Rose and who knows where their games are for the upcoming season

Westwood and Hovland have the most appeal right now.

The Asian Invasion is also very real. And I am not just talking about the American born Collin Morikawa who I love watching play.

But as I said earlier this is a week for the Bombers and short game wedge players.

I can't get off of DJ, I am actually not a huge fan and it came down to either him or Koepka, but DJ is a guy who will unleash it knowing no cuts are in play and it's a shortened field

Same goes for DeChambeau this is a classic buy low opportunity and I can see him bouncing back here in Florida. Not rooting for the guy I just see this as a pick that many others may not be on considering how he finished at Riviera.

Same goes for JT although I know Touch Loves JT and it's between him and Rahm and I actually love how Rahm is playing right now, and the fact he closed well at Riviera, but I am sticking with the chalk and the buy low theme here

So just a quick little side note. I saw a position with Barstool Sports that a buddy of mine sent me. The position was called "city viceroy". Essentially the position was someone in a specified city that would cover and embody all things that city. For example: Local sports teams past, present, future, local food, nightlife, etc. So I said to myself why not? Even if I don't get the position, it still would be nice to write something awesome about Charlotte, NC. Any and all feedback is welcomed. Really it was a labor of love that I feel as though I must share with anyone interested. Enjoy.

Down I-77, just Southwest of Greensboro, is a place where the sound of thunderous slaps from a referee's hand hitting the ring meets the bellowing hum of stock car engines as they fill the air. Charlotte, known as the "Queen City," was once home to only local wrestling matches and stock car races. Today the city is home to the Hornets, Panthers, Hounds, Checkers, and Knights. This illustrious city, no stranger to the limelight, as it has hosted big names and events, while the city's fan base continues to grow. Before the arrival of a major franchise in 1987, the city might as well have been the home of Ichabod Crane. With no major sports team within 150 miles, Charlotte looked like Sleepy Hollow. That all changed when the NBA visited the "Queen City," stepping on a hornets nest in the process giving the sports deprived city a much needed franchise, the Charlotte Hornets. Once established, Buzz City provided a home for the likes of Muggsy Bogues, Alonzo Mourning, Robert Parish, Larry Johnson, and Glen Rice, whose talents graced the hardwood for nearly three decades. In 1997, the Titanic must have sunk and with it the NFL jumped ship deciding to join the NBA. Officially putting the city on the map, the Carolina Panthers built off of the Hornets' success, eventually reaching two Super Bowls, with the "Daylight Come And Me Wanna Delhomme" - led Panthers in 2001 and again in 2015 with Mr. Dabs himself, Super Cam Newton. Notably, both losses came to future Hall of Famers Tom Brady and Peyton Manning. However, Charlotte's fans must have been listening to Petey Pablo, as they started to “Raise Up.” Those championship hopes brought in plenty of fans from across the Carolinas, defining itself as a premiere sports town. With two thriving major franchises, North Carolina now finds itself at the front of the line as other leagues look to expand. Locally, sports like hockey, lacrosse, golf and soccer continue to grow, and even minor league teams have moved into the area, giving Charlotte an active sport for each season, something the city had only dreamed of prior to 1987. Not to be forgotten, just past the city limits, those roars from NASCAR still boom and echo off of Charlotte's skyline. This amazing city respects what it came from and knows what it has become. A sports town.

Don't get ahead of yourself with illusions of grandeur being a sports beat writer. You sir are a heck a 3rd generation melon farmer. What if you had to go to Charlotte for an interview and the HR lady asked you to say, tie a necktie in her presence? Could you accomplish that Mr. Massey Ferguson?  Becoming a city slicker is an enormous change. I just want you to think it though more thoroughly. You sir are such a solid seeds, soil, and vine specialist in your own right. Remember the melon is not always firmer elsewhere.

It was pretty cold and rainy Sunday morning.  We got on the lake around 8:00 and it was 35 degrees and a bit windy.  Although we didn't catch anything to brag about, we did however manage about 20 crappie, 3 stripers and 1 perch.  Golf got rained out on my birthday Monday so instead of golfing, I took on the task of cleaning/cooking my own fish.  This is the first time that I've caught, gutted, filet, and cooked my own catch.  It was surprisingly very good.  Would have liked to landed some bigger fish but this isn't the best time for striper fishing.  Tuesday was much nicer out so I was able to get out and play golf with my pops.  He cleaned my clock with a 42/39 and I sucked again with a 40/46.  So much for letting me win on my birthday. 😂  I told him I let him win because it was my mom/dads 52nd wedding anniversary.  I was born on their 10th wedding anniversary, how cool is that??

hey greenone ,the wife doing well?

Melon farmer finds perfect answer to support heavy fruit.. bras - Daily Record

Well commish I walked into the HR office this afternoon and sure enough was asked if I was able to tie a tie. Luckily I had just come from the farm with vines in hand an showed them how to tie the old family melon bolo tie. After a successful tie I then proceeded to do my best King of the Hill impersonation, when asked what I did for a living, "I sell melon and melon accessories".  I could tell by the puzzled look on the rep's face that she had no idea what in the world "melon accessories" could be. I exclaimed, seeing the befuddlement draped across her face, "melon accessories are simply just that. Melon accessories accessorize the melons. Typically these are tight sweaters, halter tops, low buttoned up shirts, a jacket with the zipper just over the halfway point, a soaking wet NASCAR T-shirt cut in half, etc. However the most popular 2 of them all... the helmet and the dress variety." Still with a puzzled look of not only hearing what melon accessories were but the fact that hats and dresses lead the pact, the HR rep looked again towards me for further proof. I then reached into my overall pockets and handed her these photos:

Don't believe me when I say the helmet is the most popular of them. Don't take my word for it. These puppies made national headlines.

Of course then again all she really had to do was take one look at my assistant and know I was man of the people when it came to the melons

I take lessons from two different instructors. Both are good friends that I occasionally tee it up with. Ed is rather elderly and has stayed away from the range due to covid. Hutch owns a gym and is personal trainer. He also holds basketball and golf camps for young men and women. Hutch works with many of the high schools and small colleges in the area. The warmer weather has continued in Asheville so I after work got a lesson yesterday afternoon. Hutch was working with the golf team from Montreat College and was going to simultaneously give the commish a tune up. It was a great time. One of the kids' dad brought a cool young dog that I had a fun romp session with. I hope my lesson/tune up pays dividends as I have organized a game at the course where I work this afternoon. I have invited some friends that work at other country clubs in the area to join me. It's a home game and that's to my advantage so I best not gag.  My instructor Hutch is in the video below. What a solid swing coach has.  One more day of temps in the 60's so I'm off the keyboard and on the tee in 30 minutes.
