I would like to personally thank the Packers for semi-saving my week. Another 1-2. That's 3 in a row.

And N.E. got the ball back late 4th quarter and the game tied 16-16. Wait. No it should of been 16-16 it was 26-10. And Edelman WTF sorry I was on the beach with the Hotness twins from Cally.....The fumble that should of been serious blown call by refs. Are you at that age when your ear hair is the fastest (or in my case, the only) hair that still grows? If so, you can recall Conrad Dobler pointing out it either tastes great or its less filling, there is no middle ground. An ad campaign was born.

Each night I am inundated by political ads. I can either cast my vote for radical baby killing commies who want to take away our guns and force me to pay exorbitant taxes for their benefit OR I can cast my vote for people who only want to force people to have babies so they can cage them, shoot them with AR's, and build turrets on the wall so they can shoot those minorities coming from everywhere to take away my freedoms. Well, I drink Bud Light, and there's a reason. Two things I wish. 1. I was retired so I wouldn't have to shave my ear hair so I wouldn't have to hear these ridiculous ads, and two, a trip back to simpler times when a guy who grabbed testicles and bit people weren't only accepted but became pitchmen and HOF'ers. So this is a no middle ground selection week.

This is a division game, and "records go out the window." Collinsworth will excitedly tell us pre-kick, "There is no love lost between these two teams," and it is going to be a "physical football game." Because, presumably, these men took a wrong turn to the knitting circle and now they must hit each other, which is why it was so important to include "football game." If your a mystic, you have to wonder who Joe Burrow killed in his previous life to become a Bengal? I just see another 14 point win for the Ravens. Its a big spread, but I think the differences in these two teams is simply that great. Baltimore to cover, regardless of what CC says.

This isn't your Troy Aikman/ Phil Simms showdown, but a guy can only support one team. We hear a lot about Hunter Biden and Don Jr, but has anyone really looked at Chris Simms, what are his credentials beyond his sperm lottery win? I think this is where we should be focusing our energy, not sure I can put a finger on it, but he doesn't seem to have the street cred of the other talking heads. He will talk up Daniel Jones and explain how he is improving and the Cowboys need to really play well to beat them. Then the Cowboys will sleep walk to an 18 point win because we all know Dak doesn't rise to the occasion, but he sure shows up against the patsies.

East/West. The Eagles travel to the Ketchup bottle for a Keystone throwdown. The Steelers are coming off a "bye" week and Flamma did it to me again, I picked the Eagles game and lost. I was going to avoid them the rest of the way, but I can't. Now, in some respects Philly has a leg up, Yuengling v Iron City, Hooters over Donnie Iris, Cheesesteak over Primanti's, but on the gridiron, let me tell you, "You can throw the schedule out the window today, because this is going to be a physical football game." If Chris Simms is a student of the game, he will say, "This is the type of game where the warriors shine. Bill Bergey and Jack Lambert would love this atmosphere. It will be a punishing football game." Then the two teams will combine to throw the ball 70 times, 6 pass interference calls, and Mike Tomlin loses a challenge. I like the Steelers at home winning by more than a touch down.

Yes indeed P3P, Jack and Conrad were two of the meanest to ever snap up the chin strap.

Being that I attended high school in St. Louie in the late 70's I got to go see numerous Big Red games at the old Bush ( commish that was last weeks beer flashback c'mon...lol) Memorial Stadium.

Jim Hart, Jackie Smith, Terry Metcalf, and Jim Otis entertained me on Sunday's in the LOU, as well as the "dirtiest player in Pro Football" Conrad Dobler.

Great memories from the days of the ST. LOUIS football Cardinals.

I was 9 years old, and i was given permission to get into a camp for 10-18 year olds, and my roommate went on to play for USMNT in the early 90's. He also got the exception to go to the camp.

We went to the pool, we did all the stuff we were supposed to do, and breakfast was at 7:30. Well, we didn't have to primp or preen, we were so young, we were going to sleep until the last second and then get to breakfast before training started.

At about 6:45 we were awoken to an alarm sound followed by the unnerving thumping before it was all made clear. I had been exposed to Runnin with the Devil at amazing volume. When I poked my head into the kids room, he had huge speakers, amp, and turntable, and there it was. My introduction to VH. I have that CD today, and while I rarely listen to it, the saddening loss of EVH to cancer made me think about this.

If you have it, or perhaps another album, today might be a day to rock and remember.

One of my best friends in high school was from Newport Beach, Ca. Tim came from a wealthy family. He had quite the fine high end system with Pioneer and Mcintosh components including a high end techniques turntable. The sounds from this clean and clear system came crashing out of a pair of large Klipsch speakers. Tim was a skater. He knew Tony Alva and the Santa Monica Zboys. The skaters all knew early of this rock band that was getting mighty popular throughout southern California. My friend had been to garage concerts all over L.A. to see Van Halen before they were big and famous. Tim would blast "ain't talkin' 'bout love" out of that premium system at a level I could feel the pounding in my chest from 30 feet away. I saw Van Halen live twice. There was a great deal of energy at one of their concerts. P3P I too am saddened by the passing of Eddie Van Halen.

I am busting! Chris Simms is a perfect example of nepotism in the NFL. I wonder if these winter meetings are something like that Stanley Kubrick Movie Eyes Wide Shut, where a bunch of who's who rich people meet up in disguises and have mad orgies and drunk fests? You would have the Ryan's, Simm's, Turner's, Shanahan's shenanigans, all meeting at Dan Snyder's house with Bruce Allen running the door. Bill Belichick dressed as the grim reaper, would breach security and steal everyone's passwords to gain access to their playbooks. Is there a Schottenheimer in the house?!

my week 5 picks

Third road trip to the east coast this season for the Rams. The Washington defense will cause issues for the Rams ability to run the ball. Thankfully Haskins was benched this week and Kyle Allen gets the start. That change had to be made. Nice work Ron Riv. Adding all those reasons together plus 9 points at home gets the W for the WFT.

Washington +9

The Panthers defense is I think second worst in the league. The Falcons we know score in bunches. I know I know division rivals. The Falcons are tired of being made fun of. It is in the stadium with the way cool elaborate opening roof. That is all I need in that game.

Atlanta - 3 1/2

After their biggest win in a decade the Brownies come back down to the sandy shores of Lake Erie. The Indy defense is rather stout. The old QB Rivers has an efficient game throwing 7-12 yard completions. Competitive game, but the dog pounder's go home sad.
