Sooooo The Atlanta Doves had a 26-10 lead with 8 minutes left and let Da Bears score 3 td's in 4.5 minutes. Hey win one for the Gipper Doves? &%$# the Gipper dude.

Commish, after this week I am now at 4-5 overall.  I didn't watch any football, which is my general Sunday action unless the snow is flying and I can't play golf.

I feel a little like Carson Wentz.  I am unable to consistently get off the tee box.  The rest of my game is humming along, but its like no one is safe (even those behind me) when i get on the tee box.

I would like to say, I have a few fantasy football players on my roster, and I actually get upset when I see their team has scored, but it wasn't my player.  I only bring this up, because fantasy football truly does change the way I consume football information.  Perhaps I am the only one, but I doubt it.

I do as well. It's tough when the players like Nick Chubb yesterday scored against Washington, my team I root for, but I am secretly smiling inside.  When and if the WFT ever becomes a viable contender I might shift more of my focus on them and less on my own vanities. But until then its pedal to the medal. Win Just Win Baby! Like Deniro told Sonny in the Bronx Tale, "the other day he tried to throw his baseball cards away, he said Mickey Mantle is not going to pay our rent." He was upset his son was being influenced by a mob boss desire to make money. I play fantasy and some Best Ball daily stuff on the weekends. Only football I don't watch enough tv to get into basketball or baseball.

So, I think we have all seen my returns this year.  Frankly, they just aren't that good.  I have more losers than winners and am just a little below the surface trying to maintain a facade of competence.  Try as I might, even recalling the greats of the past (see Flamma and Spartacus), I simply cannot live up to their lofty successes.  I had to go to the Google for this one, but let's start out here.

Jay Cutler also had a below .500 record and is known for being angry and rarely taking the blame for his massive numbers of interceptions.  He played in a few cities and just never won the peoples hearts.  Well, I am going to write this one off and take Cry Me a River and the 2.5 points because it appears the Bears have simply replaced one sub .500 for another.  Where is Marc Trestman when you need him?

In 2009 the 49'ers drafter Kory Sheets.  A little known running back out of Purdue who really never gave the 49'ers any returns.  In fact, I know nothing about the guy, but I do know he wasn't wildly popular.  The 49'ers are playing the hapless Eagles, and while I want to support Flamma and the city of Brotherly Love, I think the 49'ers could come down with the Covid, send out a BART crew and cover the spread.  The Eagles just aren't right.  The stats show the proverbial "lay up" in football land is anything but for Flamma.  As a kid I remember truly feeling bad for Steve Sax, why don't have those same feelings?  Sociopathy is real friends, and I have the Sheets to prove it, apparently he ended up in Canada for his playing days and never suited up for the 49'ers or anyone other NFL team for that matter.  49'ers -6.5, they will win by a touchdown at least.

The final pick takes me back to the magical days of the Blonde Bomber.  Back when men were men and when their hair fell out, dang it, it was gone.  4 SBs (with an assist by Jackie Smith), and to show off his talents he has returned to the silver screen for a reality show.  I haven't watched an episode but it most assuredly will be a show about idiocy and hot women woo'ed based on his distant past.  Back when he was at the top of his small world.  Remember, this is the guy who couldn't spell Cat if you spotted him the C and the A, and just like anyone else, when all else fails take the minor celebrity and hit the circuit.  Hats off to you Terry, you were a great QB, perhaps you can re-invent yourself as a great showman.  In a brazen moment of prognostication I am going to take the bait and pick the Steelers to cover the 1.5 points on the road.  I think the actual line, if the Steelers didn't have the huge national following would favor the Titans.

Looking back, I may have write off this whole year.

Well last week we were drinking Stroh's. That was fine as it was a blue collar week around our this here Picks thread.

The commish has upgraded the adult beverage for this week.

See I was awarded something a few days back and I felt the need to come up with an acceptance speech of some sort. Now this award was rather big for an old duffer golfer guy, so I was kind of thinking I just might be asked to visit to the podium.

( the saggy faced golfer continued on for a bit too long of a stretch at the podium and was motioned to wrap it up)
