For headcover releases I've consistently had about a 50% success rate.

While I’ll agree it has become far more competitive on scoring drops…I will say I’ve been able to land multiple drops this year. The quantities they’ve been cranking out lately on the majority of releases doesn’t support a high flipper margin. If I really want something, I’ll just wait a month and buy it on the secondary when/if the interest has moved on. 
 

Part of my motivation with buying the COTM for this year was to not be chasing every drop. With that said, I’ve either re-sold or in the process or re-selling every COTM this year with the exception of 1.

No offense, but something has to be off with your setup, how you are trying to check out or you are only shooting for extremely rare items.  I've only been trying this since October and have hit 5 times already, not sure if that is high or low compared to the average but statistics would say that it's impossible for me to have hit 5 times in ~20 drops and you've struck out for the 100+ this calendar year.  What items have you actually tried to get?  Some of the concentrics were up for hours/days along with the Ditka ones.  

 

Either your internet is incredibly slow, you aren't refreshing the browser page constantly (like 2 to 3 times a second) for the drop or you aren't logged in to your account / payment method prior to it going live.  It's got to be one of those or I guess  you just have the worst luck of anyone in the world.  

 

The other thing to consider if you really want something, is to join the SWAG BST group on facebook.   A lot of people just hunt the specials and don't want the "regular" cover they end up receiving.  For several of the "average" covers you can get them for cost or lower.  I picked up a set of silver bullet concentrics from that group last week for $325 which is cheaper than if I would have ordered it from SWAG directly who collects tax.  I also just got a hot dog mallet sealed for $95, and a noob hot dog driver for $100.  I saw a Harley Queen mallet noob for $75 last night which is way cheaper than if you had got it on the SWAG site.

I have terrible arthritis, so my typing isn’t the fastest. That is probably the main reason. I’ve always been logged in to my account, and have Apple Pay at the ready.

Yeah that could be a problem.  you've got to answer the question quickly & correctly.  If you skip it or answer wrong they WILL cancel your order based on what I've seen other people complaining about on social media.

 

Also, I edited my previous post with some advice on how you could score something you are looking for.

Their headcovers are so dependent on personal taste. I don’t particularly like that one, but I absolutely love some of the other stuff they’ve done (I love the Lucky Charms one they put out recently). I’m sure you’ll find a taker.

The pickle game tonight was the most ridiculous thing ever.  I played along for 45 min and got sniped 3 times and ended up with no cover.  However, after it was all said and done and seeing the cover that I was blindly going after I'm not too upset....

🤣🤣🤣  I was sitting there and watched that come up and decided not to go for it. It was just too ridiculous and I decided I would never game it so I shouldn't buy it.  I did happen to snag both of the sh!tters full covers though so I was quite happy about that.

Been trying to find (with some difficulty) a lighter hearted putter cover. Mallet style specifically. I want to find something that alludes to being bad at putting. Something 3 putt, bogey putts or something similar in nature. Some search results have come close but not quite what I’m looking for. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I got lucky and hit the special on the blackjack wood covers. Saving them for trade bait if something else comes along this year.

I renewed my COTM but switched to blades. I’m not sure how the new format will be better or worse yet but we shall see.

I signed up for COTM this year (didn’t last year). I think Blades are the better choice for collecting / flipping / trading. 
 

I was on the fence about but really liked the money cat they previewed for January!

I switched to a blade putter so I didn’t have much need for any of the mallets but I agree, it seems there’s a bit wider base for blades. The whole limited/special/rare thing will have to play out a little more for me to be convinced. The COTM just keeps me from chasing drops and gives me some trade fuel for the things I actually want but miss.

Liked the french fry and Queen Ann covers. Unfortunately neither comes in a mallet cover. So I compromised got a cookie.

On the bst Facebook group they are selling for about the same as retail. Should be able to pick one up at cost or cheaper if you really want it.

Lucky Cat is the January 2022 COTM so it will not be a typical release.
