PXG One and Done putter reviews

Anyone buy or try this putter?

 

Any difference in feedback, sound, feel etc from the Gen 2 putters?

 

Did you like the putter and what did you not like about it?  

 

Did the alignment aids help?

 

Did you find it stable?

If you'll do a search there is a thread on this already. I did buy one ( armlock version ) solely because I wanted to try the armlock method. The putter itself felt great and the alignment aids make it super easy to line up both long and short putts. If you buy the right style I don't see how you would be dissapointed.

I noticed that you show the PXG Gunboat H for your putter and not the One and Done armlock. Did you go back to the Gunboat or did the armlock style did not work for you?

If anyone is interested in this putter - it is on sale for $295 until the 30th.  I hate them - they twisted my arm enough to buy this and they have tee cool BlackJack putter cover as well.  I need to block their website from my computer 🙂

Armlock style didn't work for me. Not bragging but I am a very good putter with the Gunboat H with my Jumbomax 17" Flat grip using there pencil grip to putt with.

 

With the Black Friday deal I am serioulsy thinking about buying another One and Done with a standard length and Heel Shafted like my Gunboat H. Really really like the alignment aids on these.

I ordered a ct tour putter shaft to put in my blackjack. I like the putter a lot. But putted with a friends tm fcg and it had a ct tour shaft. Feel of that shaft is what I'm after. But the milled face and high moi of the blackjack is proving to be exactly what I hoped for.

Yeh both the Blackjack and One and Done are really good looking putters with great feel and response off the face.

 

The Blackjack head was just a little to small for my liking. The One and Done is just a tad smaller than my Gunboat H. But the alignment aids are a great visual and make it is easy to line up.

I'm glad pics of the one and done didn't come out sooner. I like the look of those alignment aids...sort of a "too much could be perfect" kind of look. Had pics come out sooner, I would have had to think about which one to buy.  But I love the small profile of the blackjack and the shape of it. It lines up super easy.

I have putted with both in the store and prefer the One and Done... and I am a long time Spider user and currently use the Spider X. 

 

They are both smaller than the Gunboat I used for awhile.

Alignment was the main thing. Felt a touch  more stable like my Gunboat. Alignment wins though.

OK - I got my 1 & Done on Saturday and took it out to my green to test it out - was very impressed so it went into the bag for today - I hit my approach in on the first hole 25' long and was bummed, but I holed it and smiled.  I was on fire with this thing and overall did very well.  I did miss4 birdies inside 6' and another from about 10' but that is not the putter 🙂

 

When I first saw this one, I hated the look and thought it was huge.  It is actually about the same size as the BlackJack putter.  I actually love the alignment on this putter and the size.

 

I was kind of blown away at the difference between my first reaction and my reaction after seeing and using it.  I really like this thing - looking forward to the second round with it.

 

Having said all that, I think your setup is huge with any putter (Length/Lie/Grip).

 

PXG is like a crack dealer with their pricing, but I have to say I really have enjoyed the stuff I have gotten from them

Spent some time at Scottsdale HQ this weekend. Tried to buy something, but a spec check confirmed I'm spot on with my Proto driver set up. Fitter actually said not worth it. I did roll both the one & done and blackjack. I personally like the one & done over the blackjack. Rolls better and feels more solid to me. If only it was center shafted.

It is a heel shafted neck.  I used to use face balanced but I like the feel of some toe hang.   plumbers neck looks closed to me as well.

Expecting my One and Done this weekend. It will be interesting to compare to my Spitfire and see which one wins the “bake off”. 
 

I often struggle inside 8’ and I am hoping the One and Done gives me the stability and alignment help I need.

I think you'll be more than satisfied with the One and Done. I didn't think anything would ever knock my PXG Gunboat H out of the bag but it has. The alignment aids make it so easy to line up long or short putts.

Did the One and Done beat out the BlackJack for you ?

The Blackjack head was just to small for my liking so I stuck with my Gunboat H. I putt really good with it anyway so no issue there. The One and Done I would say is sized between the Blackjack and the Gunboat H.

Received my One and Done today in time to take it out to the course. 35”, Lamkin Sink Fit grip. 
 

A great feeling putter; very easy to align.  For those that are familiar with the PXG line, the pyramid face puts an outstanding roll on the ball.
 

From PXG, I have a: (i) Mustang, (ii) Spitfire; (iii) Bat Attack; (iv) Closer; and (v) Operator.  By far, the One and Done is my favorite from that lineup.

I'm looking at getting the Closer & was wondering if I can I get your thoughts on the Closer ?

Closer is very nice. Great “wide body” Anser style. Great feel and balance. 

 

PXG putters are vastly underestimated IMO.

Recieved my One & Done Plumbers Neck 3 weeks ago and tried it for a couple of weeks and it did not knock out my TM Spider X chalk. Purchased the weight kit and played around with the weights and replaced two of the 10 gram weights with 5 gram weights and wow what a difference in feel, roll and confidence for me. 3rd round so far with the new weight configuration and it appears this is my new gamer. Good feel, good roll and the ability to aim this putter is unparalleled.

I am gaming the One and Done. My three personal favorites from the PXG line are the One and Done, the Closer and the Spitfire.
