PXG One and Done putter reviews

No worries man. One of the courses about 20 minutes from.my house is a pxg local fitting course. They have all the putter fitting heads, hosels, etc. I called them earlier to see If they have the bat attack. I'll get a look at it soon.

Anyone tried the O&D with the heaviest weights (4x20 gram plugs)? It feels fine with the stock weight, but I wonder if the extra 40 grams could help with stability on take back

I've got 2 - 15g and 2 - 20g and feel it has stabilized the take back very well.  I need to order extra of each in order to match them and see which works best.

I have the blackjack and have tried 2x20g and 2x5g weights on it. For me, above 360g headweight is no bueno....until you counterbalance the grip

Sink Fit Skinny. On PXG putters, I play this or Iomic Standard putter grips which both weigh nearly the same g's.

I have 4 x 15 grams in mine and it's perfect. I am a "pop stroke" putter so I like the heavy heads.

Thanks for the advice, but I don't see myself trying that out. If the 4x20 is too heavy, I'll likely just go back to the stock weights

My 34" came with 4x 10 gram weights and it feels too heavy. Today I am adding a SS grip with a 50 gram counterweight. We shall see.

Tried the 4x20 weights today. I think I like it so far. Have yet to try on a green to see what my distance control will be like. It’s funny; going back to 2x10 and 2x20 feels way too light

Considering changing out the Lamkin PXG grip for Superstroke with counterweight, how did it work out for you?

Did not like the counterweight. I swapped out some lighter weights and love the SS grip.

Put SS Tour 2.0 on today and tried the counterweight and didnt like the feel. Removed weight from grip and using 2- 2.5 gram and 2 - 5 gram weights in the sole and certainly seems to have helped the feel of the putter.  Hope it works as I am leaving on a golf buddy's trip to Vegas to play. Thanks for your feedback.

A great feeling putter; very easy to align.  For those that are familiar with the PXG line, the pyramid face puts an outstanding roll on the ball.
 

From PXG, I have a: (i) Mustang, (ii) Spitfire; (iii) Bat Attack; (iv) Closer; and (v) Operator.  By far, the One and Done is my favorite from that lineup. 

Did the 1&d outlive your spitfire, closer, and operator? Still gaming it?

Great thread! Might need to look into PXG, especially after hearing they have lots of lefty options!

Switched to the Battle Ready Bat Attack. I really love the putter and am putting well with it …
 

But, as soon as it misbehaves, the Spitfire will go back in the bag.

I just putter better with the Bat Attack. Great feel/weight and it fits my eye and stroke.

Do you putt well with putters that have a rear center of gravity? If so, then it's a great putter.

You do tend to hop around a lot...lol. 

 

I do too, but I keep the one that works and then just try to beat it. I've now tested every pxg putter except the Brandon. I also now have 2 operators. Pretty sure I'll have one set at 3 degrees of loft and one at 4.5. Same putter just use the one with the proper loft for the green speed. 

 

If I can just figure out long putting...

haha. I am a knucklehead when it comes to putters. I just love making the game harder I guess.
 

Gunboat and O&D have been my favorite PXG putters.

If I were to buy another pxg putter, it would be the br spitfire. That one has potential. Putts like a blade but with a lot of stability.

I was fit into the Spitfire at PXG and never bought one. Yet, another regret. Very stable.

I typically do, although I’m rolling it pretty good with a traditional blade right now. But the rear CG mallets have always been good for me

When I first saw this one, I hated the look and thought it was huge.  It is actually about the same size as the BlackJack putter.  I actually love the alignment on this putter and the size.

 

I was kind of blown away at the difference between my first reaction and my reaction after seeing and using it.  I really like this thing - looking forward to the second round with it.

 

Having said all that, I think your setup is huge with any putter (Length/Lie/Grip).

 

PXG is like a crack dealer with their pricing, but I have to say I really have enjoyed the stuff I have gotten from them

Can you scoop the ball up with the club head on the One & Done like you can with most fang type putters?

You can but it's not near as easy as a fang type putter. You scoop too fast and the ball just skips over the back lip, but it can be done.

 

I just went back to picking the ball up again.
