Titleist U500 vs Srixon ZX Utility

Srixon doesn't have the shaft I am after so might have to consider Titlieist U500.

Would like to hear your experience comparing the two. Thanks.

Had the U500 and now the ZX. Hands down the ZX is the best utility I have ever tried. They nailed it with this one. Sound, looks, turf interaction, etc. I am one to not usually get along with utilities and did not really like the U65. Order it stock and get the shaft installed aftermarket. You won't be disappointed.

also just swapped out the u500 for the ZX. putting in an aftermarket shaft in it as we speak!

I think the zx will probably be more forgiving and a little easier to hit.  Have not seen one in person yet, but have only heard good things about it.  I’m curious about it as well.  Hopefully the footprint is a little smaller than previous versions.  Zx might feel a little softer.

The u500 is a straight performer!  It’s been in my bag for the past season.  Very compact shape and little offset.  Biggest reason why I game it.  Feels very solid on center strikes.  It’s very low spin as well and gets great ball speed.

What is the head size comparison on these? I can’t find the ZX anywhere to get a look in person from it but I’m close to pulling the trigger on getting one anyway. I need a replacement for my trusty MP Fli-Hi that has lasted me about 13 years now! My only concern is hearing the head is pretty compact for a UDI? Narrowed the choice to these two and Sim UDI

I’ve games both and ended up with a New Level NLU-01. Might be worth checking out!

How thin is the sole of the NLU-01 compared to the ZX and U500?  The NLU looks thinner in pics.

I haven't hit the ZX, but if it is anything like the other Srixon utilities then it will feel great, especially compared to the U500 which is definitely a harder feeling iron. Both are hotmeltable though which will help the U500 a lot.

The U500 is also very compact with low offset, whereas the ZX is chunkier with more offset.

It’s not thin at all, I’d actually say it’s wider. More comparable to my gen 2 Pxg driving iron

Which of the two models (#2) will do better as a driving iron off the tee?

I very rarely hit the driving iron off the turf. The U500 is an absolute beast off the tee and I ordered mine with the HZDRUS Black Smoke RDX at 17º and after a couple sessions, bent it to 18º. That took what was a small amount of offset to a really small amount of offset and I actually notice that extra degree of bounce helps in the turf. Just flies a tad higher off the deck now.
