The Aldila Ascent is a re-painted Mitsubishi Fubuki V

Did Chevy/GMC/Caddy ever repaint a 2017 vehicle with a new color and try to re-sell it, claiming it was a 2021 model?  Not the same thing we're talking about here.

Just played my first round with the Fubuki and didn't really notice any difference between it and the Ascent, in a good way. 

 

Note, I am not one that notices much difference in feel between shafts, except when it is a big stiffness/profile difference.

Nice... I couldn’t find an Ascent so I grabbed a Fubuki V. It should arrive in 5-6 days along with the TM Adapter. 
 

I used to play the Fubuki K for years in an old Nike VR-S str8fit driver... hopefully I like the V better than the K.

Did you add any weight in the club head? Sometimes that can make the shaft feel "looser", especially on a driver.

I’m not going to lie. I love the feel of the Fubuki V…. Feels loose, but smooth on the backswing… but then tightens up on the downswing and still feels great through impact. I gained about 12-15 yards up against the Tensei Blue 60S with the same parameters on my Mevo (non-plus). I still need to work on AOA I’m sure, but this shaft feels great to me. I think I grabbed it for $85-90 shipped on the Bay. Worth every penny IMO

Quicker tempo as well. It happens to me quite often when I speed things up. I hate every club in my bag then.

I have the same problem. When I get quick in transition, my shafts aren't "stiff enough" and droop excessively and i hit my irons fat and get too steep with long clubs. 

 

After experimenting with shafts that are (according to promo materials) too stiff for me, I definitely prefer a shaft that's too stiff and can't release enough versus one that deflects too much at the bottom unless my tempo is great. 

 

Part of it is that my miss is a hook anyway, so with a TX (when I should only have a stiff shaft in driver) I feel like I can swing as hard as I want, which in turn helps my tempo. When I feel too much deflection in the shaft, I start trying to match my timing to the loading/unloading of the club I think as opposed to dictating the loading pattern with my tempo. Heavier weight has also helped me (even though I'm lanky if anything).

 an old thread but im bored, IMO it was the addition of watered down versions as stock shafts that killed the fubuki interest.
