Has anyone got any shippings recently? My order is 8/17 so its been about 5 weeks.

Shaft mix up on my order - ordered TSi2 3 wood with HD 7X, but it arrived with DI Black 7X (not upset about it). The Titleist spec sheet listed DI Black 7X, despite my TGW order confirmation specifying HD 7X. Maybe a supply issue? If Titleist is out of the HD, would they just build with DI instead? Curious to hear if anyone else's HD fairway wood orders also arrive with DI instead, or if mine was a one-off mistake.

I'll find out in a few days but an order should just go into backorder status if they dont have something. No company should just be sending out random shafts because something is OOS, especially upcharge items.

My TSi2 16.5 was ordered with a DI 8S but arrived with an HD8S instead...I like the HD ok, but I picked up a TSi3 with a Ventus Black that I like better so the 16.5/HD8 will soon be up for sale.

Such odd behavior by Titleist haha hard to figure this one out. When they do mix up the shafts, they seem to still get the right weight and flex.

Took my new TSi2 fwy wood out for a spin today and it's a keeper. Was looking forward to trying AD HD, but AD DI 7X felt super stable, love the "one piece" feel, no fear of the loose snap hook, yet able to control a slight draw when needed.  Launch is a bit high for me, so I'll have to do some tinkering with the loft sleeve. Definitely have more control with this setup vs my current Callaway Epic Flash SZ w/ Tensei CK Pro Orange 70TX.

Ok so that would make sense - .5" for 3w and .75" for 4w and 1" for 5w and 7w.

I dont see how/why they would tip 1" default for a 3w

That’s what I thought!

Re: standard tipping in the fwy woods, received the following reply from Titleist:

@sgolf711 checks out with the convo you had with TGW

But it looks like it’s 1” and maybe that’s because of the bore depth from the Titleist tip adapter. What a great find. The AD HD deal is still available with the FW’s!

Got mine two days early. Thanks Fedex!

Specs are 100%. Correct shaft - HD 7 and standard specs at 43"/D3

The HD 7 in a 3 wood did infact come tipped 1" which I still think is weird but we'll see how it plays vs my BF

Contemplating a TSi2 7 wood in the HD but in between a 7x or 8s. My driver ss is typically around 108-112 when swinging well, but will dial it back often to around 105 to find center face.

Looking for something fairly high launching / soft landing to fit behind my M3 HL 17* that I play with a UST Mamiya vts tour spx silver in 7x. My gut tells me the HD 7x will have a slightly higher flight than the 8s which is what I'm looking for, but curious if anyone has experience between the two.

Also, anyone know how accurate this chart is below (compared to GD's site reco of 105+ ss in X flex):

Amazing - curious to hear your review of the HD7 once you take it out for a test run.

I think weight will have more impact than the flex. These GD charts kinda confuse me honestly, lol.

I think the 1” tipping has to do with the Titleist FW adapter being shallower than their surefit driver adapter or even a standard bore/fixed hosel. I agree it’s usually 0.5” for 3 woods. I believe GD even recommends it like most brands do. What do I measure to & from for verification?

An untipped GDI shaft is 24.75" from the tip to the first ring on the shaft, IIRC.

at 105+ SS, I'd be weary of choosing any stiff flex shaft, even if it's 80+ grams. The weight of 8S may give the illusion of stability but dispersion may be loose still at those speeds vs any X flex shaft. 7X feels like the way to go! Or 8X if you prefer that weight class / feel

That's just not true. It depends on a lot of factors including tempo and release. I'm a smooth transition, late release/fast hands 116-118mph.

I just got fit today and it was borderline between a Graphite Design AD XC 7s and 7x. Ultimately the 7x won out because of my tendency to want to lean into one here and there, but the 7s gave me a pretty consistent cut pattern, while the 7x was a mix of cuts and draws. That ultimately made the decision as I tend to (try) to work it both ways and I couldn't turn the 7s over.

Driver: Callaway Paradym 8* (draw, std) - GD ADXC 7x

3 wood: Taylormade SIM 15* - GD ADDI 7x

5 wood: Ping G30 18* - Diamana Blue 83x

Irons: 3-5 Taylormade 2014 TP MC (2* weak);  6-PW Taylormade 2014 TP MB (1* weak) - Project X 6.5

SW: Scratch 54* bent to 53* - Ctaper 130x

LW: Scratch 58* bent to 59* - Ctaper 130x

Putter: Modified Odyssey 7 w/ welded long slant

So the added flex was resisting release, interesting and it makes sense especially with a swing like yours. My swing is similar just not as many mph’s 😉

Yeah, I made sure I didn't look at anything he put together until after I'd hit it. I was pretty surprised to see a stiff shaft in it. And I'd probably be better off with a consistent shot shape that I literally could eliminate the left side of the course...but the dispersion widths were pretty much the same - just not the same shot shapes. 7x did win the distance battle, both on average and overall longest.

I'll give it another 5 years to see if I smarten up any and choose consistency 😄

Does your description not validate that the 7s was too soft of a flex then? i.e. swinging too fast for the shaft to catch up and time the kick/release for a straight ball/draw? Seems intuitive. Like you said, a high SS player could prefer the s flex if they're looking for that cut bias / late release, so your experience confirms my warning for @makaveli to be wary of these kinds of tendencies when contemplating the weaker flex.

I don't see it that way, given that a very good, certified fitter got me into that shaft after multiple iterations of others. It's not "too soft" in my view, it resulted in a shot pattern that I didn't want to be locked into. There wasn't any compromise on trajectory windows, spin or ball speed really. The overall distance average was slightly better with the 7x, but not by much. If I could mentally buy into the shot pattern of the 7s, I'd have gone that direction.

I think it DOES make the point that shafts affect everyone differently, and getting a GOOD fitter is important to both optimize numbers and get the player comfortable with the results. I was fit at Club Champion a couple months ago, and they just followed their script and kept me in a head that didn't work for my miss, and a shaft that, while pretty good, ultimately didn't get me where I wanted to be. Granted, I don't know for sure that this iteration of driver will get me there - but if the fitting session is a good indicator (and it should be), then I'll be damn close.
