Got fit the Friday before Thanksgiving.

Working with John was such a pleasure. Just a great dude who knows a ton about putting... now it's just the long slow wait for the putter to arrive.

At the end of everything, he walked me back to a 20 foot long billet of steel and pointed about 10 feet in and said "your putter is about right here"... just freaking cool that they do all that stuff in house.

Tentative name for the putter is "The Commodore", I'll post photos when it's in hand.

So I had my first fitting/lesson today with Artisan for a putter. I actually was able to pick up one of the special editions they released a couple of months ago the day they sent the email. I had dreamed of having a putter and I took the chance since financially at that time I was finally able to. I had it built at 69* due to the fact I was just thinking “I hate having my hands so high with my current putter and maybe this will help”. I got that putter and I have rolled it well. Like really well. Well last night I was on the site and saw they had an opening today. I said screw it, let’s go after the fitting and buy another one. Got there super early this morning because I was beyond excited. Went inside about 20 mins early and everyone there stopped what they were doing and said hi, asked how I was doing, and what all I needed. I was a kid on Christmas morning. I met John and he took me to the back room where they had just built an indoor green that ran 11 on the stimp he said. We never went outside but I was ok with that. I still had 20-25 ft putts. What we talked about and worked on for 2 hours was nothing short of incredible. How he was able to see just little things in my stroke was amazing. We were able to completely take my “pull” out of my stroke. It was amazing to see and feel. The ball was just tumbling straight end over end. About halfway through he took my 0220 and bent it half a degree more flat and gave it back to me. When we were done he said, “this is kinda incredible. If you had come in with any other putter I would have fit you into that exact same head, neck and length and the lie would have been 68.5, but now that one is. That is the perfect putter for you. I won’t lie, I was kinda disappointed just for the fact I was ready to get a bluebonnet putter…..but, he saved me a good chunk of money and was happy to tell me that I didn’t need to buy another unless I just wanted to. I told him I would pass and that now I could go for the wedges. So now I’m being impatient and hoping a wedge fitting opens up this month, but if not, I’ll be going the first week of January as long as the weather is tolerable. 
 

I look forward to getting on the course with my new knowledge for my stroke and seeing the ball fall in more often!

Glad you had a good time; to give you some consolation; the bluebonnet fades over time. mine is patchy now after a few years!

John was shocked last year how good condition my putter was.

 

I am player 145 so I think I got this summer 2019. Since I got the putter I have never thought once about changing it. It is still blue but not as blue. the torched hosel has always been slightly more blue. I use silicon spray on my putter, fertiliser is the killer not water.

I sent mine back for a rework.  I don't think adding a sight line would be an issue for them at all..

 

Shoot them a message on instagram and they get back to you pretty quickly

A sight line is no big deal to add based on emails I've had with John.
