Putting lessons online / remotely ?

I live in a remote’ish part of the U.K. And having just looked on the websites of all local golf Studios / Club or Teaching Professionals: the nearest person I can find who looks to be a well qualified / experienced ‘Putting specialist’ is about 130-140 mile round trip away…..

 

So how about doing lessons remotely via some sort of live feed ? I’m guessing these days there are phone apps for finitely measuring path / face / tempo etc (?) - so that any instructor will both see and know my exact parameters ?

 

Has / is anyone done or doing this - and how did it work out for you ?

 
Or is ‘in person’ infinitely more productive ?

Before you take a putting lesson check out this 2+ minute video by Loren Roberts, "Boss of the Moss". I've been using his putting style for years and am embarrassed sometime because I make so many putts.

OP, make the drive!!!!!

 

Drive over, have a nice dinner, spend the night, have a great session on the greens and head home.  I doubt the instructor needs questionable phone data anyway or will need data from you in person, unless you are doing some sort of SAM Lab kind of thing, and you will benefit tremendously (if you get a good one) from a quality in-person session on something as critical as putting.

 

IMO, it is something then you can work on more on your own armed with solid setup/feedback on what you need to work on and look for than you can with "regular" lessons.  Get your own video while you are there of yourself and the coach showing you what to do, etc. if that isn't already part of the arrangement. Heck, even if it is.

This. 100 %.  This is exactly how tiger sees the stroke too.   And he’s who Fowler  robbed and so on and so forth.  The one handed drill is absolutely the best thing to put my stroke back on track. Been off lately and I spent yesterday and this morning doing  just this.
