I’m afraid to pull trigger on heated vest.  They all seem to fit WAY small and seem to be hit and miss. Got one your recommend?

You will love this one. It will free up your swing this winter.

chili,

is this vest pretty soft?  I bought one of these (not this brand) heated vests from amazon made overseas last year and the thing was very stiff and rigid.  Im looking for a heated vest that is soft and stretchy if possible. Something soft like a nano puff if its made

Its according to how you define soft. It’s not like fleece but is more like down. It has to be “more rigid” on all heated vests to keep the heating elements from a) melting the polyester and b) from ripping through the fabric. This one is not stiff, but it isn’t soft like fleece either. I use it for my winter golf rounds and haven’t had a single issue. I do like mine pretty form fitting for golf and like the adjustable sides for when I want to wear it for skiing or another winter activity where I just want a heavier layer underneath for the day outside.

I think it’s really your preference. I’m 6’0 175 lbs and I have a medium. It fits snug with everything zipped. I would say go a size bigger if you are unsure. You’ll have a couple of inches more on the adjustable side that will give you flexibility if it’s too snug but you can’t go smaller if you order too large.

I’m 250.  I’m wondering if the XXL will be big enough.

I know this isnt the "heated vest" thread, but this is the one that I got. It's not available anymore. 😞 But it's nice because I can control all 3 heating zones. So if I just want heat on one specific area, I can to that. (It has 3 heat settings as well.) I find myself using the lower back on it's own quite a bit. So if that is any option on any of the vests you are looking at, I would recommend it.

Callaway Rogue ST Max - Tensei AV White - 8*
Taylormade M3 HL - MFS5 White Tie 60S -0.75" (42.5")

Mizuno JPX 923 HMP - 4-G - Recoil 95 S - 2* upright

Callaway X-JAWS - 52/58*

Odyssey OWorks 2ball  -  34" - 1* loft - 71* lie
Slighter Proto 1 #9/Del Mar design - High Toe - Long neck - Deep Milled face - 33", 370gr, lie 71*, loft 4*

Good question and I don’t know. It does have free returns so you don’t have anything to lose.

Got the XXL. with the sides zipped, it’s tighter than I want on. With sides unzipped it’s perfect.  Was shocked how much a difference it’s makes.  Have the battery charging now!  Vest quality shocked me.  It may be crap and fall apart but feels very premium and substantial.  Thank for the recommendation. 50° today but high of 28° tomorrow and low of 11°.  We’ll test it out for sure!

Maybe because if he cold it is here but after wearing it didn’t seem to get very warm on the hottest setting.  I mean, it’s on, as you can feel some heat around the coils but not “hot”.  But that could be because I was wearing it just now outside and it’s 11°.

it may work just fine in 35°-40° golf.

It shouldn’t feel hot. That would melt the polyester and probably burn you. It should feel warm. At 35* I can wear it with my 32* hoodie and a polo and usually have to shut it off by 6th-7th hole once it reaches 45 or so.

  • 1 month later...

Wore my 32 degrees hoodie for the first time Sunday. It was 60 with 25mph winds. It felt much colder than that. Anything below that temp I would say that I would have needed something thicker/warmer.

But I played well so maybe it worked as it was so easy to swing.

Yeah it’s think.  For me, unlike some here this is a great hoodie to like 55 (an no winds) or 65( and windy).  It’s my every night shirt. When I walk in the house each night, I go right to one of these and Nike shorts.

I actually wore mine this past Saturday here. It was 42* with 25-35 mph winds, so the wind chill was right at the 32* mark. Paired it with an Under Armour cold gear mock and a polo and never once got cold, although to be fair, I always tend to run on the warmer side when playing, so YMMV. Really impressed with the hoodie, I too felt zero restriction all day. Only wish is it came in more colors!

If they had it in white I would buy 3. I love pairing a thin white hoodie under a jacket or bomber.

I've pulled the strings out of all of mine. They distract me while I'm putting. I suppose I could tuck them in... too late.

I used to tuck them inside but pulled a few out.   I have about 12 of these now.

Don’t get me wrong, I like it.

I do experience Seasonal Affective Disorder. SAD. Its a real thing even though my girlfriend thinks it’s bull.

Anything below 40 degrees I turn into kind of a *****. Fully aware of my downfall.

While I'd love to play close to $300 for a Ryder Cup hoodie, a little out of the budget. Can someone please recommend a non golf brand hoodie as they all seem to be well over $100 that they've had success with. Looking for a mid layer type weight.

Thanks in advance

I play with the Travis Mathews t-shirt hoodies.  It doesn't get too cold down in Florida so I don't need the full sweatshirt style.

I just bought the 1/4 zip hoodie from No Laying Up, but after reading the comments on the hoodie from 32* I may return it. I bought a large and it’s a little small, plus it was $90. What of the other 32* products are worth looking at? Do any of you have the insulated vest?

I have several of the insulated vests. They are plenty warm and lightweight.
