Hoodies

Recommended Posts

While I'd love to play close to $300 for a Ryder Cup hoodie, a little out of the budget. Can someone please recommend a non golf brand hoodie as they all seem to be well over $100 that they've had success with. Looking for a mid layer type weight.

Thanks in advance

The RLX Cashmere hoodies are worth the price if you can muster up the cash. Love them so much I have all 3 colors they came out with a year or two ago.

Yes! I got all three colors last season when they were on sale and they are my favorite. The Greyson hoodies are awesome also. Although a bit pricey.

Did you guys get the regular cashmere or the washable one? I bought the washable ones and all of them end up shrinking even after following the instructions exactly.

Hoods flopping around when you are golfing look a little silly, on your head they look worse, IMO.  But I love a good pair of faded jeans for colder weather golf on occasion, so what do I know about fashion.

If you want to be warm, wear a cap or a stocking cap if it's that cold, those little hoodies may make you look mysterious but really don't do much that is functional playing golf.

If you want to make the world go away, stay home and sit in a dark closet. 😉

Hoodies are here to stay.

I’m pretty sure no one is suggesting going out to the course in some cheap, cotton, drawstring and hand pouch hoodie. Right?

I think those are way different than the jackets or half zips with a hood for windy fall and winter days. Keep them trim, solid colors and small logos and don’t look like a schliub headed to watch football in your buddies basement.

I bought a Polo regular cashmere and the RLX washable cashmere hoodie. There is a little bit of shrinking but not much in my experience. It kind of stretches out a bit after wearing it again. I use the wool setting on our front loading washer and also put them in a mesh wash bag. And of course, dry flat after stretching a bit.

The RLX cashmere golf hoodies are very nice.  Yes, pricey, but wait for a sale and they are reasonable.  We're talking about well-fitting, modern fit cashmere sweaters, an updated version of a classic look.  Cashmere is timeless, extremely comfortable and versatile in a range of climates and temps.

People describing them as sweatshirts are seeing what they want to see - its not worth debating with folks who don't like them.

I just want to make sure that I understand the question. Are you looking just looking for any hoodie that you could golf in? Or are you looking for a Ryder Cup hoodie that doesnt cost $300?

I only ask because there are a ton of different places to buy high quality hoodies. If youre looking for something sporty, the normal places are a good way to start: Nike, UA, Adidas, etc. There are even plenty of them that dont have enormous annoying logos. Yeah, they have logos, but so do most of the options people are suggesting here.

This is unfortunately the wrong time to find hoodies for a good price. I'd probably look at something simple and cheap like stuff on Costco or hit up your closest outlet mall for Nike, UA, etc... When the cold season ends, that's the time to stock up. I grabbed a bunch of Galvin Green gear, hoodies included, for under $100 (full zip hoodie was $40).
