I have to call Jamie here soon to get a new LW; mine is pretty shot.  I’m happy to ask him what number they’re on and the cadence (sets per month). One thing I’ve learned about the Artisan gang is they won’t rush anything; it’s all about quality which I love.  I waited 2 years for them to call me off the wedge wait list.  Never was something more worth a wait.

Happy to report back.  Like said above, at 500 it sounds like I’m looking at late 2023.

We might be surprised… $2500-3000 is a lot of money.  Let me be VERY clear that never was a price more justified; these guys are icons.  But, for some, that price tag might just not be doable which could move things along more quickly.

I think the biggest wait was them being pleased with the heads.  I know they worked for months to get the heads to their standards.  Again, so awesome.  Now, it’s just fitting and building (albeit meticulously).  I bet the prediction of 250 sets a year is about bang on.  I don’t believe they will do individual sole grinds unless requested and for a significant up-charge.  So, it’s just fit and build now.  So, that’s a positive!

I agree I think the list goes quicker then one would would think as 2,500-3,000 is a big price for a set of irons….I bet only 3 or 4 out of every 10 get the irons in the first go around….I could be wrong but I have heard someone else suggest the same as well…..my guess if you are 500 you will get a call mid-late summer.

Isn’t it great when threads on this site truly provide helpful information and aren’t pointlessly contentious?  Love to see it.  👏🏼

Now, let’s get back to fighting about whether my 108 mph swing speed needs a VENTUS TR Black 10 TX!  🤣

I didn’t mean to offend anyone…just offering up what I have heard

I now not many people have hit these yet so this is a long shot...

How do these feel in comparison to the P7TW irons? I'm playing those right now and they have a very distinctive feel (guess it's the tungsten weight) but I'm a sucker for anything Artisan!

Thanks

Would love to know this as I am as well…..

The P7TWs are very firm, similar in nature to the Miura's (MB101s).  The Artisan irons (to me) are closer to the feeling I get from the Mizunos (with copper).

Driver: Cobra LTDxLS @ 9º (8.25º) w/ Fujikura Speeder TR 661s

Fairway: Callaway Mavrik 4W @ 16º w/ ProjectX Evenflow Black 70s

Hybrid: Sub70 939x 4H @ 21º w/ ProjectX Black Hybrid 6.0

Irons: Artisan HC 4/5 w/ Steelfiber i95cw Stiff; 6-PW w/ Steelfiber i110cw Stiff

Wedges: Artisan Raw 51º, 56º, 61º w/ Modus 120s (to  be re-shafted with Steelfibers to match irons)

Putter: Artisan 0318 Deep Milled

Interesting. I play the BXS ball (I'm not trying to copy Tiger here, honestly!) and don't find them too firm. I wonder if the irons would be too soft? How do they compare to the wedges, I don't find the wedges too soft although I guess you don't generate enough cub head and ball speed to compress the ball as much.

The irons complement the wedges.   I'll be deciding between the Bridgestone BX and BXS in the Spring.  It'll all come down to spin.

As I said earlier, they feel solid but not as firm as the Miura's and P7TW's, in my opinion.  Of course, a lot of that feel can be based on the shaft.  Mine will have the Steelfiber 110s in them

Ordered my set November 16th. They emailed me Oct 11th and I was player #007. Took my a while to pull the trigger at the price point but they have to be solid or they wouldn't have launched them. I am playing the Srixon ZX7 5-pw and have a ZX5 for the 4 iron. The half cavity were the closest to them. Cant wait to get them.

After my homework (testing some irons with the MMT 105TX (ss*1), I put my order in on Nov. 9th

I am playing the same ZX7's and was wondering about sizing.  Were the HC and FC about the same size as the ZX7's?  I am number 185 so it should not be too long for me to get the call.

When do you think you will get call? I am  just slightly higher then you and was thinking January/February…

I think the lower the number the more likely they will get them.

I was thinking sometime then as well but could be until April with holidays and such.  Kinda hope it is a little later as my game will be in the tank in February from not playing.

Jamie said the Half Cavity os the closes to the ZX7's. I didn't get to geeky with him. I think the ZX7's are a hard one to try to mimic due to the V Sole grind. Apples and oranges. When they come in I will take Pics of the two side by side.

I am speculating the half cavity will feel like butter due to the mass behind the sweet spot. There is a lot of steel there.

It feels every bit as good as the MB's

Luckily was delivered a set of HC this week 4-pw...feel every bit as good as they look and flight to match.

Originally bought a set of wedges at the start of the season 50,54 and 58 and loved them so bit the bullet and can’t say I’m disappointed at all....I’ve used AP2’s for over a decade and was a little concerned the HC’s might not be as playable but I was wrong and the turf interaction is spot on...only need to save up for a artisan putter now🤩

I take it you'd bought some Artisan gear before this year then? Otherwise that's pretty impressive to get the irons this early!

Hit them well.
