Artisan upcoming irons

The price is fine for what they offer I would certainly say; I am still just stuck if I need new irons right now.

I leave houston tomorrow and not likely to be back until the spring but going for irons without a fitting is dangerous but again my blueprints are so good so I would likely match the spec of them.

I assume lofts can be tweaked as my wedges are 46, 50, 55, 60 and would need them to blend well.

I agree their prices are more than reasonable.  Jamie just said if you want to go the handground route on the irons it would be a very expensive….  Perhaps worth it for some but I want them just the way they are….

wedges of course they grind

Yes Jaime said customization outside of head type and shaft is: length, lie angle and loft adjustments to some extent (chromed heads)

From my conversation with Jamie, nothing more than 1* with regards to loft on the irons for tweaking as they do not want to mess with the sole/turf interaction

I think I am mid 500's or so. I already told the wife the second that email comes through I am on a plane to Texas. When I purchased my wedges I did not get fit except they did blueprint what I was already playing. It would be interesting to have them take a look while I am down there just to make sure they are perfect (possibly get a backup/practice set).

There was some negotiating on my part as I had to be cool with whatever she needed to spend to get Taylor Swift tickets. The cost on those may have been close to the irons LOL!

been eying those japanese market sets for some time now.  anyone know if these are the same specs as what is planned for the US?  I've read they place great importance on weight, do iron head weights vary based on shaft type?

It is interesting the way the most of the orders that have been placed so far seems like they are only for the MB and HC iron heads. There doesnt seem to be much action on the CB heads at least that is what looks like I could very be wrong on my statement here. I myself are more interested in the CB head as it is always great to have some margin for error in a forged head as it never hurts. Can anybody out there provide some accurate info as far as the size of the head and face on the CB as compared to any of the current irons out at retail? From what I have seen and researched on the internet it looks like the CB is the same size of a Titleist T 200 iron, if I am correct on this I am in for a set problem is my number is so high it be a dogs age before I get a email from the Wizards at Artisan. I wonder what number they are on and how quickly they are going thru there list of clients. Maybe 30 sets a month? By the way just a thought is anybody out stamping there intials on the backs or would they make it look chessy??

I got the email over the weekend and placed my order today for the FC.  Jamie said those most resemble the XZ7's and like you said i wanted a little more forgivness.

Dumb question with the weather today...

Did you decide on the FCs without hitting the other heads first?

@cjblake09  You know you have to post your number, everyone keeping track! hahaha.

What is the turn around time?

Turn around time depends on the components.  If shafts/grips are readily available, then it's about two weeks.  Mine took two weeks for the shafts and were built last week.  Hopefully shipping out soon

I am waiting to make a trip down there to get fit. I have to imagine there are a few waiting to do the same! Especially at this price point and just wanting an excuse to get down to the Oven 🙏 Dont forget  the Miller Lites!

Im 41. 7 handicap. Play the P790s. Looking to do full cavity for the entire set.

Had Nike Pro Combos before the 790s and the tech has made a world of difference on off centered strikes! Blades are sexy AF but I cant find the center of the face enough and swingspeed/bad back is having me look for help where I can get it.

Does anybody know or seen what the top line looks like as far as thickness goes between each model of iron, MB compared to HC compared to CB??? also is the top line satin finished or rounded to make look very appealing when looking down in the address position, Just curious. Also when adjusting lofts if need be are they wrapping something around the hosel and protecting the top line when putting in the loft lie machine to protect the head from getting marled or have bend marks after adjusting. I had my last set done and it looks horrible as they did not do anything to protect the head from being marked. This may seem kinda goofy but I am picky on stuff like this I have seen it done the right way it can be done with out any damage.

Artisan’s build shop will absolutely do it the correct way, they’re the top of the industry.

I have MBs in both JDM and US version.
Played JDM for about 6months and just received US version today.
I initially thought they were exact same heads, but there are subtle differences.

Differences are most noticeable on the face, JDM has milling marks on the face whereas US version doesn’t.

Artisan Star logo location is different; JDM higher, US lower.
Also some laser etching on hosel of JDM.

I have not measured it, but US version seems have higher CG based on muscle length, but this may be deceiving due to finish differences (chrome vs satin).

Address position of the head seems to have negligible differences as well (lines).
Again, this may be because of finish differences. (Both are satin on the face, but different tone)

With all being said, if you ask Artisan they will say they are exact same heads.

Comparison pics are with 8 irons.
