That's exactly why goingcto sporting events is a total rip off. Charge for parking etc...concessions crazy.

Not golf but concession related no less:

 

Saw Dave Chappelle at the Hollywood Bowl a few weekends back. 

 

Tickets: $360 (could have been cheaper)

Parking: $150 (didn't pay this, got a local motel instead)

Beer: between $18 - $24 depending on what you wanted

Food: We paid almost $40 for 4 tacos. 

 

Agree with the statements about watching from the couch with a full fridge HOWEVER, this was a bucket list thing and I didn't mind shelling out. Would do it again in a heartbeat. 

 

Doesn't change the fact the prices are out of control.

I'm going to the Bowl this week:

 

One Pool Circle Box...friend who has season tickets gave me them.

 

Valet Parking (right behind bowl, no line to get out)...again, free except for nice tip.

 

Food:  Will buy some takeout and candy...probably $50-100 for the four of us.

 

Alcohol:  Picked up some Rombauer Chardonay for $25/bottle on sale the other day at Pavillions. Might throw a couple bottles of Pliny in too!   Of course, you can't bring alcohol to leased events...which I think Chappelle was?

 

Unless it's free, or really cheap, I'm not going to many live events anymore.  I grew up on front section tickets for the Stones and Dead for under $15.  Even with inflation, I can't wrap my brain around $250+ tickets (the $100 ones are in the nosebleed).

Nope and I would have for that.  My thumb is not exactly on the pulse of the ticket resale market.

Jay Monahan just announced that beer will be $75 (plus tax) for a Natty Light in order to fund the increase in purses.
