Name the 16 players with 2 or more majors from 1997 forward

David Duval's comments yesterday about how hard it is to win majors, especially multiple majors, prompted me to look up how many players have won multiple majors in relatively recent times. I settled on 1997 forward as the time frame since 97 was Tiger's first & it seems to be a reasonable line of demarcation. I came up with 13 16 players who have won 2 or more majors beginning in 1997 through today. I was surprised there were that many & also surprised at several of the names that came up. I didn't count players who won 2 majors with one pre-97 & the other after 97; it got too confusing as to where to put the starting point. I admit up front I may have missed somebody but for now, let's go with 16

How many of them can you name without using Google?

Close! The number is now 14, I missed Ernie. Told you I may have missed somebody.

I am too lazy to go back and admit a mistake and edit, I forgot El Pato. Must be the prison time.

Vijay is one. I'm blanking on any others

Right you are! And wrong again am I. Another one I missed. Should have been more careful in my research. The number is now 16 with 2 still not named.

This is rapidly becoming a train wreck. What can I say, I'm an accountant so I'm not good with numbers...

(last two thanks to this thread)

Winner! Bubba Watson was already in DON SVO's original reply so that makes 16 (barring somebody else discovering another person or 2 I missed).

The ones that surprised me the most (other than those I left off the original list) were Kaymer, Zach Johnson & O'Meara.

I got 15 right, but I had Olazabal instead of O'Meara.

Yeah, Olazabal is the one I remember who split the 1997 starting point with his 2 majors. Won The Masters in 1994 & 1999. 15 is awesome!

Crazy how hard to remember O'Meara's 2 majors are. I mean, he won them both in the same year!

Yeah, O'Meara won the Open AND taught Justin Rose how to shave in the same weekend.

Technically, you can copy & paste Tiger's name 7 times because ... 🙂

Anyway, missed O'Meara, Goosen, Singh, Els. Probably would have missed Kaymer had this is not PGA Championship week and DJ grounding the club at whistling straits.

Everybody who responded beat me. I only got 13 WITH Google. 🤣

I'm still in therapy to deal with the trauma that comes with knowing that Padraig Harrington has more Majors to his name than Greg Norman, Sandy Lyle and Jose Maria Olazabal, and three times Ian Woosnam's total.

Old Nike woods with blue shafts, 712Us and a bagful of 681s, two rusty old Vokey SM5s, an Eye 2 Gorge L wedge and an Anser 2
