Golf Town in Canada has these going online August 19th... I feel like I'm really late to the game... Loving the Newport Plus, I already have my grave putter in my Rory Newport, so this gives me an excuse to have something else!

I like these, I wish the Newport/NP2 Plus models had the top sight line to match the regular NP/NP2 but I might be a buyer because I've wanted a NP2 with a top line for awhile.  Not sure why these didn't get a black shaft, otherwise these are nice!  We'll see how limited they are and if I can snag one.

Always wondered how they allocate the left-handed versions of these limited releases (Champions Choice being the first). Seems like everywhere I have called or seen online are only getting right-handed models. Does Scotty just allocate the left-handed stock at random?

What's funny is most people will now lose 25 to 40% of their profit flipping these (due to the 2022 tax changes), yet it makes no difference.  Flippers gonna flip.

 

I'm sure many will try to flip locally via cash.

Helpful comparison of the top lines. Masterful = Newport and Timeless = Newport 2 for basic purposes.

I think they’ll stay $399 as the blades is usually cheaper than the Mallet. I’m excited about the Newport+ profile. Thicker but still rounded might be perfect.

I’d just soon have this and go play several rounds than drop the $650. 3-4000 is not what I’d call limited but that’s just me. This one looks and feels good. Contemplating one, especially for the price.

All I know is I ordered the newport +. If I like it ill certainly game it. If not I will flip it and will not lose $$ on it just like the champions choice putters

Is there any realistic chance of getting a Newport or NP2 without a connection (and not on eBay)? Will a store have one on 8/19, will a website have one for sale, is there a way to preorder? I asked my local Watts and they said they are not getting any but they did wish me the best of luck.

When the Champions Choice limited release was announced there were typical golf websites allowing pre-order.  I think I preordered from Golf Galaxy if I remember correctly.  After the release I didn't hear from them for about 30 days and then I started inquiring with customer service.  As I'd already paid for it I think they had to scramble to get the inventory that they allowed for preorder and it ended up taking about 2 months to finally receive the putter I preordered.  This time I can't find anyone that is allowing preorder probably to avoid the problem they had before.  I did put my name on the list with my local golf shop but they said it's an "unofficial" pre-notice list that they will call when their allotted stock comes in but no guarantee they will still have any available. I might have to go stand outside until they open the doors on the 19th.  Love the looks of the Newport 2+.

Someone mentioned earlier that it might be in the neighborhood of 3-4000 on the release number. The Huntingtons for the money are hard to beat.

I think these would look pretty awesome with a blackout stability shaft. Unfortunately that’s going to push the price to almost 1k.

Is this a sign of things to come for the black finish on the next refresh of the Special Select line? Would really like a squareback 2 in the black finish. Nelly Korda's Putter for reference.

Appreciate his business skills, but don‘t care for his putter making skills at all. Those translucent black dots on the back are aesthetically a nightmare. All in all these putters have the appeal of something you would find as ornamentation in a funeral house specialized on golfers.

I have the 2011 version and really want the Newport 2, but not for $650. Also I think my wife would kill me as last putter I bought she asked me how many do I really need.
