We are all different DS. I have watched that competition since the first year they held the event. I enjoy it because that is a lot of pressure on those young kids and I like to see which one rises to the top in each age category. Heck I didn't even have children but I really enjoy watching kids do golf things.

 

Here is a taste to get us excited for this weekend.

It’s all deleted now unfortunately. Someone took the bait, like he does EVERY TIME and spilled his pepper, there must have been a lot of mod activity there.

Dang it I missed it. I was just over there. I got some laughs though because I read Hot Box and a few other humorous uses of marijuana slang !  😅

I found it interesting that most of the guys in the western states were far more accepting of pot smoke on the course compared to those in other parts of the country. I also found it interesting how many posters stated loud drunken players were far worse than the other two.

I think I know who it is.  It's is a combination of what you offer to grind over a caesar salad and a forced induction device that is powered by the flow of exhaust gases.

Last weekend I asked Stan who we were playing with on Tuesday. He told me W was joining us in addition to our good friend Peter who was back from months in New Zeland. Stan plays with W the retired guy who plays out of Grove Park  GC a few times a year and I have heard about him before but we have never played together. I told Stan I was looking forward to meeting and playing with the guy. 

 

Stan told W where I worked on the practice range. W told me that 10 years ago he played frequently at BFCC and asked if I might know Mr. H and Mr. P. who were members there. I laughed and said yes indeed I knew both of them well and I have played with Mr. P numerous times. We had nice conversation regarding the course at Biltmore Forest during our warm up on the range. 

 

On hole 5 in the fairway after he hit his approach shot I ask W, I don't hear any Carolina dialect whatsoever, so where do you hail from Mr. W.?  His answer........ Well Lawrence I am from a town way up in northern New York called Plattsburgh.  No you don't say. I ask him if he knew a guy LP (our NCL). He didn't. I told him of my good friend and golf buddy over in Chapel Hill, NC that also hails from that city way up there near the Canada border. W told me to ask Lance if he ever hear of McM Chrysler Plymouth as his family owned that dealership in Plattsburgh for years. I contacted Lance and yes indeed he did know of that dealership from the olden days of Plattsburgh, NY.

 

W and I enjoyed playing together and Stan and I will be taking him up on his invitation to play Grove Park on a Tuesday afternoon with him in the near future.

 

Yes I can now say that I have randomly crossed paths with two golfers from Plattsburgh,NY and have greatly enjoyed playing with both of the fine gentlemen from way upstate New York.

All I can say is, if I get to mid-70's and I am still hitting high soft 4i I will probably change my user name.  There are some other things I should probably do in the interim.  I should quit so I can start golf at a later age and then explain my aptitude is god given and maybe head up a major MNC or at least something on the Forbes list.  Until then, I will muck around in my pithy existence trying to conjure up images of fantastic elder gentlemen who are the models for the modern Michelangelo.

Save your money. Their pizza is blah. If you want/need to spend money on pizza on that part of Rt. 88 spend it at Ya Ya's. Better than Hot Box. And Ya Ya's IMO is just average.

Earlier this week there was talk of my home club possibly opening next Monday but now there’s about 8 inches of snow outside 😄

 

Had a tee time booked at another course for Sunday as well but it’s going to be yet another simulator weekend.

 

Hopefully this is the last snow we’ll see. Should melt quite quickly next week but I’m impatient.

... Temps dropping to the low 60's with winds 20mph+ and we are thinking of cancelling. 🫣 April's average temp in Phoenix is 86* and it will be up in the 90's next week so 62* and little sun feels like winter. Sooooo spoiled. Hope the weather changes for you guys soon!
