You can call it ironic or something and you’ll be much happier.  I buy 4 four packs for $80 at the beginning of the season and at $5/ it’s almost disposable.

It has been a good night, the Jays came back to beat the Astros with two out in the top of the ninth. My 92 year old mother will be thrilled when I tell her in the morning as she can’t stay up this late.

 

As for golf gloves, I never wear them so don’t know what the going rate is. 
 

On the subject of EV’s, I plan on sticking to hybrids for a while yet.

Oh my what did I find yesterday in my buddy Peter's bag? I found two interesting clubs and those clubs were sticks we have been talking about recently here in the Lounge. 

 

A classic olden days Hogan 60* wedge and another Bubble Shafted TM golf club. There are always a few interesting finds in Peter's bag because he searches Play it Again and Goodwill often for clubs.

 

My only equipment change is my golf bag. I returned my Callaway commemorative  Arnie's 4 Masters wins bag to storage and my white Titleist bag is back on the job.

Retire it. It has provided excellent service to you and deserves now to lay low.

Color me the skeptic.  I resisted for years.  Until I discovered them I was the guy who wouldn't change their glove until they were practically useless.  Stretched out and slippery with maybe a couple of holes in them.  Then one Christmas I received the 4 pack and I was shocked.  The feel is as good as a nice cabretta glove, I still don't love the oversized velcro on the back, but I can overlook that for the lack of guilt when I change it out much sooner than I had ever done the past 40 years of playing golf.

 

I totally have certain items I wouldn't dream of going low budget on so I understand completely.  People will find a ProVx and hand it to me, and that thing will never see the light of day.  If it didnt listen to the last owner why would I think it would change it's ways?  Shoes?  Generic golf shirt?  Cheap sun hat?  Nope, won't do it.  But because I tend to go through gloves pretty quickly I didn't see any downside.

I'm a complete thrifter.  I've tried the KSig gloves and liked them just fine but I've been going with the RockBottomGolf leather gloves lately as I had some money in credit there.  I've also liked the MG (Mastergrip) gloves and have ordered quite a few.  

 

Used golf balls?  Yes please!  I'm not a "ball hawk" but if I'm looking for mine and find a few others...good for me!  Clean them up, put my red Sharpie mark on them and sort them with others of similar make.  As a matter of fact, my credit at RBG was from used balls that I traded in.  I haven't bought golf balls since we moved south!

 

Mrs. NCL and myself also like checking out thrift stores when we can.  Most of my golf clothes have been bought there as the quality is high and the prices low.  Footjoy, Nike, UA...some new with tags...never know what you might find!  (So let's go find it!)

... I never used a glove. Tried it when I started playing and hated it. I have never worn a watch or any jewelry either. 🤷‍♂️ Roll up my long sleeves and like my hands and wrists unencumbered. I do have a MGi glove in may bag in case it rains, but I have never used it.

Yeah, I don't believe everything has to be top shelf as long as it works.   I don't think I could possibly enjoy a dinner I spent over $200 on.  Probably a by-product of spending a good deal of my life basically broke.   Never had money as a kid.  Carried on the tradition for most of my life.  Never destitute but working poor.  Doing okay now.  As long as pensions and Social Security hold up.  But I do worry about them both.   Seems like the young people want to say that those things were just handed to us.   My view is that these were the rules I was given when I started playing the game, so you can't change them now.   We'll see.

I didn't use a glove for 55 years and then I used one last year.   Probably didn't help and I think I'll be going back to no glove this year.

For me it's Titleist Players or FJ Stay Softs. 

Besides if both of your hands are equally tan how are you going to get noticed as a serious golfer? 😄

I use the FootJoy Sta-Soft.  In BLACK... never shows the grime.  I play 3 times a week and a single glove lasts me about 6 months.  The old glove is my range glove.

I like the Nike Durafeel - they tend to fit best and last a good while for me.
