New Titleist irons - T100 & T150 comparison - 2023 Memorial

For those that played the T100S, how did you gap the wedges? It also makes it really hard to blend T100 with T150. Not only is it 2* stronger but with the tungsten and speed slot, you hit them even further as if there was a 3* stronger club (7* gap) between say 7 iron and. 6 iron.

If you have 44* PW and you want to end with a 60* wedge, what two do you put in the middle? 44-50-56-60? I guess you could bend some to 44-49-55-60.

What did you guys do in the past?

Bend her. 44>45, 50, 54>55, 60.

I am not in love with my i230’s.  The T150 certainly has my attention even though I have never played a Titleist iron.  Looking forward to the test.

Same just got my T100s today. i230’s are going on BST. Wanted to like them but just not a ping iron guy. T150 will be on order asap. No test just pulling the trigger

Got fit for these last week, so will add what I learned...

The T150 has a slightly larger topline and face with more offset and tungsten to create a more forgiving iron than the T00 and is similar to the 100S in that it has the stronger lofts. The PW is 44 (yes, had the number stamped on it) and I went with the GW (48) as part of the set for the first time. Will be dropping my 50 degree vokey and using my 54 and 58 with that new set. Debating if I want to bend the 54 to 53 and have 5 degrees between gap through lob.

I actually went in thinking I would get fit for the T200, but hit these 150s so well it became a no brainer. After hitting the 7 in the fitting and finding the right shaft and lie angle we thought we might do a split, but then hit the 6, 5 and 4 of the T150 all better than the T200 and was sold. Misses were closer to full yardage and dispersion on the misses was impressively tighter than both my existing irons (i525) and somehow the T200, which should be more forgiving. I was also launching the longer irons higher with the 150 over the 200 which shouldn't be the case, so maybe that is just me, but has me very excited to put these into play.

Was told they would ship in ~2 weeks and I would have them about a month before they are in stores around end of August.

I think the T150 is going to be a massive hit.

Releasing a slightly bigger and hopefully more forgiving version of the T100 is going to appeal to a lot of players.

I never really understood the T100s. If you are good enough to play the T100, then why do you need the extra distance from the lower loft? For me, that just creates a bigger gapping issue between PW and GAP wedge.

I guess the T150 will probably be a stronger loft than the T100, but at least you get a little more forgivness there, and the option to bend to increase loft.

Pretty sure the 100s lofts were designed to knock off some spin compared to the 100, and produce a lower flight, rather than just an increase in distance. Fitter told me that was a big request from some of the high speed collegiate level players.

I tested the new 100&150 and saw the same. Slightly lower spin in the 150's and a few yards farther. Preferred the feeling of the 100 though.

It figures. Stronger lofts will make for less spin.
