I played the XV for a round last weekend, zero seam wear whatsoever. No issues on the Diamond either.

During the last year I've gone through 8 boxes playing them.  Every single one of them has had the seam crack at some point.  My cousin plays the Z-star and the seam started cracking after 7 holes.  The only reason I still play the XV is because the numbers/performance can't be beat and they run deals on them periodically.  I usually end up throwing them in my shag bag or sacrificing them to the golf gods after each round because of this issue.  My buddy who used to be a rep for Srixon/Cleveland who currently works for the USGA and is a +3 cap is stocked up on the XV and he experiences the same thing.  There are plenty of Z-star users who report the same issue.  Consider yourself lucky.

Played the proto today…used one ball for 18 holes..shot -6 and has one mark on it…held up great… spin galore and distance was close to all other balls on the market..

the crack is simply the way the 2 sides are fused together and nothing that affects performance.  i even reached out to srixon at one point and they sent me a free dozen.  ive had my longest drives ever by a huge margin with the z star xv (prior gen)

None. And after certain ball testing results came out, I’m not surprised. 2024 ball has to dramatically improve.

It’s for accounts that have big prebooks for 2024 ..we just put them on the shelves for or TM customers. They will have a launch in February for everybody. And yes I’m in Grand Canyon State…

I got sent some prototypes and didnt really notice any difference in the new ones and the last model. The pix model was slightly different visually.

TP5 or TP5X? I only got the tp5x protos and I could noticed the protos were firmer and clickier than the '21 variant. 

 

Its not leaps and bounds but when hit side by side a noticeable difference is felt.

TP5X - Honestly I couldn’t tell any difference between the two. Granted it was cold when I tested them out multiple times. 
 

Considering playing pro v1X’s this coming season. I loved the durability of the TP5X and it maintains its shine which I like. Which is why I went away from pro v’s previously. Nike Tour balls were my favorite in the past. Mainly bc I got them way cheaper than retail having access to the employee store.

I still have 2 sleeves left of the '21 TP5x and the durability is absolutely atrocious.  The 2 sleeves that I used all got chewed up pretty bad by my wedges.  Hoping the '24 version is an improvement.

I showed my post on its durability and overall i think the protos at best marginally better in durability and above average in its class. Which really means it’s good but not as good as ProVs. 
 

i mean come on dude you riping wedges on the same ball you expect any ball to survive that carnage lol. 
Not sure how fresh the wedges are but if they were fresh let the gashes reign on them.

Well, I also rotate the Vice Pro Plus and they hold up much better compared to the '21 TP5x.  I can use them for 2+ rounds whereas the TP5x is done after one it's so badly scuffed up.

I haven't had that problem personally. I can usually get thru one ball per round and then it goes in the practice shag bag. Unless things are sideways that day of course!lol!
