Apex UW September 2023

Still waiting on mine, ordered the 17* to use as somewhat of a 4.5 "wood", they sent the wrong head the first time (see Apex thread haha).

I'm in love with this thing already!

I'm not sure if the 17* will satisfy the people who wanted it to launch higher, but this thing flies!

I mentioned in the previous post I wanted a 4.5 wood, and it seems to fit the bill!

Only time I couldn't hit it well was once the sun had set, but I couldn't see much at all 🤣

NOTE: still in the wrapper when I took these, looks better in person than the Callaway photos imo

After looking at Callaway's specs for woods this year I just noticed that these '23 UW are 1* more upright than the last model. That paired with the more loft and/or closed face angle you can see how theyre trying to make it a more friendly club to the masses vs the original model.

Our buddy JW is hinting around an adjustable version coming out.  If that happens, I’d be super interested since it would be so much easier to swap out and test new shafts.

Probably talking about the new Apex hybrids coming out in '24 with the remainder of the line. We'll see if theres a standard, Pro - and maybe a 'UT' version this year.

 

Callaway is the king of club overlap so I wouldnt doubt it - they would have THREE utility woods at that point and thats just so on brand for them.

One of my favorite things about this club was the fixed hosel. I like the slimmer look.

Not another leftward directional biased hybrid...more upright is not what many of us were hoping for with this release.

Definitely looks good but not the best club for people who love to experiment with shafts (at least for me anyways).

Anyone know what weights the 24 models use?  The OG UW used the same weights as the fairway woods, but the 24 version is a larger diameter. They look almost like the Apex hybrid weights, but I don’t have any to test out. Looking for a 12g weight as I cut my 19* down to 41”.

Just ordered the 21 for $200. Hoping there’s not a big difference but this thread saying it was lower launch compared to the new one swayed me.
