What is exactly new in the 2024 UW?  It is a different color, but I haven't read anything that really shows a drastic change from the original UW.  For what its worth my local shop who had their Callaway rep come in said there wasn't much different about the new UW except a different color.  So curious what exactly is different from original to the new??

It's nice that they expanded the leftie selection and added the 17*, but it doesn't make sense to me to have a 17* if I already have the 19*. I suppose I could try to bend them each 1 degree in opposite directions and give me 16* and 20*.

I'll add that I like the look for the original UW better than the new one.  Maybe seeing them in person will change that.

Would love a 90+g options.

If you can find an old “g4” Blueboard, it’s still a great option. You get an extra inch of tip because it was designed for the bore through driver heads at the time, so more often than not, there’s still plenty of room left to work with (for additional tipping), as opposed to the “g3” version.

Anyway, I had a 93g version in a UW for a little while and liked it well enough, but sold it to a playing partner. They made a 103g option as well, if I’m remembering correctly.

Would love to see heavier shaft options, I get it is a .335 tip but most are using this as a hybrid replacement. Would love a 90+g options.

No doubt. Got in on the trono deal with the OG UW, but it was 75 grams. Playing an 85 gram 5 wood shaft. I want the 21 degree with a 90-95 gram shaft. Hate when you make a players club, ends up in a bunch of players bags, and the release has 0 of the shaft options the player would actually use. Weird to drop 300 on a wood and then spend 4 weeks scouring ebay for a 9x ventus wood shaft for a decent price.

Not sure how I feel about it. It was already a perfect club, and the only thing I've noticed that's different is paint and the sole geometry. The sole geometry I feel like you'd have to prove to me that it's better. Are the heads the same mass? That was a big reason they were so good, the heads were the right weight.

Exactly - Lofts would make more sense to be 3 degree different...17-20-23...or have the adjustable sleeve.

Being a lefty the 19 degree was my only option last gen but didn't gap correctly for me. I have no use for the 17 degree as I like my current 5 wood. the 21 degree would have been perfect but of course it will not be available in LH.

1000% Agree! Same issue for me shaft weight wise.

From what I understand based on what I've read, the only real change is club has undergone is the sole shape. "Make it the same, but better" is the never ending demand of tour players, so I guess this makes sense. The Batwing bit really does the same thing as Jailbreak as far as I'm concerned, it's just a marketing gimmick.

Wish they would have added the 23 degree to retail this time around.

If these models spin a little higher that may not be completely necessary and the 21 could actually perform like a 21* as opposed to needing a 23*.

Yeah, if JW is right about these spinning more, I still wish lefties could get the 21 degree, but the 19 degree might work. My problem with the previous model was that it just went too far, it was right on top of my 3W and left a huge gap to my 4 iron. I really liked everything about it, it just didn't fit my set-up. I'll definitely try the new one.

I’ve been on the fence about ordering the UW as a 5 wood replacement and the new images pushed me over the edge to find the “older” model and pull the trigger.

Never cared as much about the look of woods/hybrids vs. the rest of the bag, but the new model looks terrible. No doubt this will still be a popular club, but I don’t think I could stomach having to take the headcover off and look at that dollar-bin big bertha ripoff looking thing. Yikes!

Just cut the shaft length down to reduce distance.

Trajectory was part of the problem too. A 21 degree would be better for me in just about every way.
