Another circus in Dallas. As soon as Dak throws an interception. They will be crying for Lance who won’t be getting any reps in practice.  He will suck. And that’s the end of that. San Francisco saw that storm on the horizon and cut bait.  Good for them.

No offense intended which is almost always followed by something offensive, my old pard back in Chicago liked to say they should just build a wall around the entire state of Texas like Escape from New York. Nobody gets in and nobody gets out. 🤪 Austin would be an exception and residents could come and go as they pleased. He grew up in Philly so of course he hated the Cowboys.

I'm going to put in my picks now because A) I don't like over-thinking these things and B) I'm probably going to be busy this week getting ready for the the Ireland trip.  I'd really like to avoid doing something stupid like forgetting to pack my golf shirts like I did for last year's Scotland trip.

Tampa will start the Caleb Williams sweepstakes off with a lose. Give me Minnesota -6

 

Also in the CW sweepstakes, the cardinals are going to start the kid that was 4th on the Browns depth chart before he got traded.  I also liked what I saw from Sam Howell, give me Washington -7

Oh man, Dobbs is QB1 for the Cards while overrated Kyler continues to rehab from his ACL tear??? Yikes, gonna be another ruff season for them.

... We know what Dobbs looks like. We had a sneak preview of what Clayton Tune might look like. Tune looked really good to my eye, has a higher ceiling and again, something I like to see in rookie NFL QB's he has poise in the pocket. I am not at practice or in the film room, but I just have a hard time understanding why they would start Dobbs, unless they are tanking for the 1st pick in the '24 draft.

Even with Kyler just getting paid, I think they want the 1st pick, either for CW or to trade for a haul.

From what I have seen, Drake May has a lot of talent, but needs to refine.  He seems to create pressure by moving when he doesn’t need to, plus he throws quite a few INT.  He will be the 2nd QB taken.

... Long season, so we shall see. For my money, he is the best I have seen after 1 season as a freshman. I expect big leaps by years end. There is a lot a young QB can improve but the one thing you can't teach is accuracy and while a few have improved at the pro level, Josh Allen coms to mind, most never do. Maye is one of the most accurate QB's I have ever watched in college. And I know I say this a lot but his poise is off the charts.
