I am in complete agreement with @NJBigFish22 that Super Bowl Sunday can (should?) equate to some unhealthy eating.  So I am making my "Lance-A-Lotta Pasta" dish which is pasta (rigatoni tonight) combined with sauce (Paul Newman Sockarooni), browned ground beef, diced onion, sliced pepperoni, shredded Italian cheese, and ricotta cheese (light of course)...bake for 25 minutes.  Served with a few slices of garlic bread then watch the Niners roll!

... I am in agreement and it is a perfect cheat day. That said, I don't have a dinning room table and have 4 bar chairs at my kitchen counter as I have one big great room. Those chairs will be used for viewing so everyone will be eating in their chairs or standing and sandwiches was the best choice. If I were doing sandwiches, I would normally have some kind of Italian sub with Mortadella, Salami, Pepperoni and hot peppers. Sadly that won't fly with this crew. Even ham is a little over the top 🙄 and most will have turkey and cheese with mayonnaise and NO lettuce or tomato. Certainly no fresh avacado. I learned this the hard way last year when wives didn't attend, so I am hoping the ladies appreciate the lettuce, tomato and avocado. One is a vegetarian so she will at least enjoy the toppings with me.

I already ate my first batch of nachos at 10am.  Nothing special - round tortilla chips with taco-spiced beef, grated colby and cheddar (block, not that pre-grated stuff), finely-chopped red onion and jalapeno (two layers of everything).  Sorry, no beer yet.  

 

This is the first SB Sunday in 20 years when I'm not working during the game, but I probably still won't watch it, at least not live.  I admitted before that I'm a "homer" so I'm really hoping the 49ers win, but I don't want to get all wound up watching it.  I'll probably work on my taxes.  LOL.

Went to the NJ Golf Show this morning and have to say it was rather disappointing, probably will never go back. I thought there would be some good deals, but nothing that blew me away.  I did get a brochure with 3 Gentlemen’s Clubs in Myrtle Beach so I can plan my next trip to include some T&A.  I was hoping this would eat up a big chunk of the day before kickoff.  On my way home I stopped to get my 6’er of Guinness (probably won’t survive the day).  I am making my “elaborate” nacho dish.  Melting cheese on chips in the microwave are good nachos, having to cook ingredients, combine in a dish and put in the oven makes them elaborate.

Ok, as it turns out, I am watching the game live.  I was so surprised and grateful to see the video and appearance of the Lahainaluna HS football coaches and captains before the coin toss.  At the time of the fire last year, I believe I mentioned that my mom was born and raised in Lahaina and she is a Class of 1954 Lahainaluna HS graduate.  I had to call her over to the TV so she could watch it and she got emotional.

 

In other news, I'm in 2 "squares" pools and got $200 for the halftime score.  As it turned out, I have SF "0" in both pools and have KC "3" and "7" in the other.  LOL.  As a "homer," though, I would've been perfectly happy if it had remained 10-0.  LOL.

I’m going go throw this out, every Super Bowl National Anthem should be the Whitney Houston version.  
 

As for the commercials and Halftime, meh don’t find the majority funny and the Halftime show does nothing for me.  I will at least give Usher credit for actually singing.

I've got Rams 0 - and Pitt 7. Trailing 17-13 with but a few seconds in the 3rd quarter left, Rams go in for a TD. Money in the bank, right ?

Later, 49ers vs Dolphins. Friend of a friend is in a $100 per box pool, winner-take-all.

 

He's got SF 8, MIA 6. Not the worst but not great.

 

1st half ends SF 28 Mia 16. OMG, but no halftime payout.

Nope. 3rd Q goes 10-0 SF so at 38-16, it's still 8-6.

 

And 4th Q goes SCORELESS. He wins the $10G !!!
