Titleist TSI2- Anyone still gaming

I just picked up a brand new TSI2 driver on discount.  Played a few years back, really loved it, anyone else still gaming?  Anyone come back to it after switching from something newer?  I remember it being long and forgiving.  Can’t wait to smash this thing again.

Most definitely. They're still very popular on Tour, Harmon won The Open with it. I know a couple guys on Tour who switched back to the Tsi2 after giving the TSR2 a go. Don't get me wrong the TSR is great and surely has the edge in usage on Tour, but it's surprising how many guys are still sticking with the Tsi's. Typically staffers are using the next gen product no questions asked, so I guess the long-standing popularity is a testament to the Tsi line. Probably because there isn't a direct replacement to the Tsi in the TSR lineup, the shapes are actually pretty different; the TSR's are slightly more compact and have more of a forward CoG. So it's not gonna launch quite as easy or spin as much as the Tsi2 - which is great for a lot of people, but not so great for others

Agreed.  I was looking for a new one, pretty much lucked out and walked into a store here in Chattanooga and found 3 new ones.  I remember feeling a lot more confident with the shape of the TSI2 over the TSR2.  My driving lately has gone in the gutter.  Hoping this look and some past success comes back haha.

I got fit into a TSR2 so I bought a used TSi2 with a similar shaft to the True Spec custom. I love it, though I’ve been fighting some bad hooks lately (my issue, not the club).

I actually switched out my tsi2 because it would give me some unwanted “draws”

I bought a TSi2 11* head over the weekend since I read that it might be higher launching and higher spinning than the TSR2 11* head I have been playing.

But I stuck an old 910 D2 12* head on the Ventus TR Red 5R shaft that I really like, and had an excellent driving day Saturday.

So I am saving up for a TSR1 12* head.

I was gifted a TSi2 head about a year ago, and it sat in my storage room for 8 months because I was fairly happy with the driver I was hitting at the time, and didn't really have a shaft for it.  Found a Ventus Black to try out in it at the end of this past summer, and I'm now kicking myself for not trying it earlier.  Easily the straightest I've driven the ball in a long time.  Distance is comparable to everything else I've tried, but forgiveness is off the charts.  I can't even toe hook this one into trouble, pretty much everything stays in play!

TSR2 is definitely a nicer look than the TSI2 but still a good gamer. Only really need the upgrade if you're after more ball speed. I got fitted into my TSR2 but I think the shaft was the real improvement.

Still game my Tsi 3 wood.

TSi2 and TSR2 are completely different drivers.  I gamed the TSi2 and it's probably the most accurate driver I've ever gamed, but you do leave yards on the table with it and it has a definitely draw bias that I didn't love.  "Working" the TSi2 left to right was nearly impossible for me.  While I don't need to do it that often (nor am I skilled enough to), it is nice to be able to play a shot that can fade somewhat on a dogleg right hole where appropriate.

TSR2 is actually borderline unplayable for me it is so low spin.  I've given it a whirl a few times and I think I may need more loft.  While long - it was wild due to low spin, so sticking with my trusty Stealth+ for time being

I have a TSi3, did an extensive fitting, and nothing beat it. The fitter said the TSR3 offered no improvement and advised me to hit the TSi3 until the face cracked.

You'd probably need to see multiple generations of drivers come through before you can beat a well-fitted driver that is currently working for you.

I'm not in a TSI2 but still play a TSi3 and see no reason to switch anytime soon.

TSi line is really good. I’m also still using the TSi3. My buddy had the TSi2 and really liked it. He upgraded to TSR and feels there is little difference. YMMV.

TSi3 the last two seasons. Demoed the TRS line last year. Looks wise the TSR2 had too much going on in the trunk and I just couldn't stand to look at it.  The TSR3 wasn't any better in performance than my TSi3. I will play this driver for the foreseeable future.

I too was wondering whether it is worth the jump from tsi to tsr. Tsi is much less on the secondhand market.
