Foreward Golf Irons

It's an interesting concept - irons are basically a knock off of the Edel's.

The variable bounce irons heads could be a game changer for some - I can't see the majority of the golf population making consistent enough contact that bounce would matter.

If I remember correctly his fitting 'system' is like 1200 bucks to just figure out what of his works for you.   I'm guessing if you're fit in person it's more affordable than him shipping you the 20+ clubs

Did you go through the fitting process with him?  How did that work if you did?

And I think that Edel kinda ripped off Kyoei who probably took that idea from someone else as well. But besides the point Forward does have 1 thing Edel, Kyoei and others don't.....Lefties.

At that price I'm flying to San Diego for that and if Chad had this system up sooner I might have for my last set of irons, maybe the next one if these get more attention and reviews.

Also @03trdblack definitely share if you experienced the fitting.

I didn't go through the fitting as it was sort of being developed and finalized more when I found out about them. I know that I'm a steeper player and the higher bounce option is what appealed to me in the first place. I also like the lie angle was flatter.

The top line is nice and thin but the blade length is a little longer which helps me not close the face as fast. My miss is a pull so that was a nice bonus.

A remote fitting idea is great. A remote fitting at $1200 is insanity.

Makes sense considering what he's shipping you. Tough for the consumer to justify that, tough for him to risk charging less. The sooner he opens up a north east fitting centre and have both ends of the country covered I could see things taking off.

Hard to trust people these days with 20+ clubs and a case for no collateral.

I'm going to assume it's a deposit and you get back a certain amount after everything is returned.

Obviously, and I totally understand. He's shipping 30 pounds worth of clubs in a heavy hard case or whatever across the country, and with insurance I'm sure there and back is quite pricey. Probably more than most fittings straight out of the gate. And he has to make money on the deal as well, so I get it. I just don't understand why any normal person would pay that number if that's actually true. It goes mostly without saying, but that fitting is as expensive as some fitted iron sets in total. As a business model, that seems to appeal to an awfully narrow sliver of the overall pie.

I don't want to appear overly negative by the way, I think the irons look great and I wish the fittings I've paid for were as thorough as his with regards to figuring out optimal specs like bounce, sole width, length, swingweight, etc. I think all that stuff is arguably more important than picking a head.

I’d like to know why you went with these over your more common OEM. Was it the fitting process? Or do you like to be the guy who has something different?
Also the bounce options, fairy dust or worth the hype?

Same especially if they lead to consistent strikes, really curios about trying his fitting system. He does have a fitter in Denver if you want to scratch the itch, or order the fitting case.

My artisans aren’t going anywhere.  Pointless to even swing anything else.   I’d be surprised if it made that big of a difference in my ball striking… unless he moves the sweet spot to where the grooves don’t exist on the toe. 🤣🤣

I'm all over the face right now, will just say it's the swing changes so it could help, not more lessons or practice, new irons lol.

I essentially fit myself as I am a steep player and do best with iron that have extra bounce in the sole. I liked the look of the irons a lot as well as the flexibility of the weights since I built them myself (I own a club building and repair business).

They are extremely soft and have a very thin top line but a little longer blade length.

Been on the fence about these, some National Custom Works, or another set of Miura Craftsman World. These certainly don't have the curb appeal as the others but damn if they don't still appeal to me at a third of the price.
