When the bag is more important.

This is a unique year.  Finally updated wedges.  The bag has a long history.  When my parents got married, my Mom no longer had to work.  She used her last paycheck to buy my Dad the bag and a set of Wilson irons.  

 

Yesterday, at the age of 72, my Dad passed.

 

Today I put my clubs in the bag.

I am going to keep the sticker from an event he played on the bag.  

 

Losing your Dad is hard.

I lost my Dad two years and three months ago.  The initial pain has lessened, but I still get random waves of overwhelming sadness and emotions.

 

Not sure I'll ever get over it.

I feel this. My dad died 10 years ago and I only just got over the emotions of using his clubs.

Started lessons/playing this year, cleaned up his (nice) set, mom is super happy, and I'm happy.

That is awesome!  The first round I played with the bag it was comforting.  When I put the club back in the bag, I wasn't upset if I hit a bad one.  When I smashed a drive, it was an added bonus!  My Dad was more of a precision player, so he got a big kick out of seeing me get a hold of one.  I like to think he sees all the good ones from a better view now!
