Best Push Cart?

Recommended Posts

I'm in the market for a new push cart.  Clic Gear was the first to pop into my head.  Who makes the best non-motorized cart?

I'm going to vote for the Bag Boy Nitron LTD:  https://www.dynamicbrands.com/collections/bag-boy/products/nitron-ltd-push-cart?variant=47016540504376.  I have used my wife's Omada Trilite:  https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08VBRW77D  and a Big Max IQ 360 Golf Push Cart:  https://www.costco.com/big-max-iq-360-golf-push-cart.product.100771782.html before this, and all of them with several different bags.  I've also used the quad-wheeled Bag Boy carts our club has too:  https://www.dynamicbrands.com/collections/best-sellers/products/quad-xl-push-cart?variant=44090361545016

Here are the bags I've used with all of these carts:

- Callaway Hyperlite

- Ping Hoofer

- Ping Hoofer Lite

- Titleist Player 4+

The Bag Boy blows all of the other carts away because it is so awesomely easy to put my bag on there (I know that sounds cheesy, but it really is kind of amazing after the struggle-bus I was on with the Big Max cart). I slide the stand down into the slot on the top, it locks in, and I secure the bottom. I don't even use the top straps unless I want to keep them out of my way.

Can't go wrong with Clicgear.  Adjustable, tunable, foldable for tight space.  Ton-O-accessories...

Best IMO comes from amount of use and problems.  Started with Bag Boy's, but had problems with both, so in 2012 bought Clicgear 3.0 push carts for my wife and me.  We've been using them ever since, without issue.

Thanks for all the replies... pulled the trigger on a Clicgear, love all the accessories available, the folded size, and the fact that they seem extremely sturdy

Too late for the OP, but the Clicgear has its downsides. I've had the 4.0 for 2.5 years or so and am mostly happy with it. It's sturdy and easy enough to push around. But it's heavier than some, bulkier when folded up than some, and absurdly far from being intuitive and easy to set up and break down. You can easily pinch a finger if you're not careful. This is not optimal industrial design. Once in awhile, if I'm not playing all that much, I'll set it up at home just to refresh my mind with this procedure. I'm good with this kind of handiwork, too, so if it annoys me, I won't be the only one. A friend who plays more than I do had one for a long time and switched to something that he found to be less of a pain. My wife won't have any part of the Clicgear unless I'm with her to perform these tasks. Our old Sun Mountain push cart is super simple to use in these aspects, though it's less appealing on the course. Tradeoffs.

Would I buy it again if I could do it over? I'm not sure. I do like it for the most part. But the negatives are significant, at least for me.

I had a Clic Gear 3.5 and returned it to get the Caddytek from Costco.   I now have two of them, an older one with a fixed front wheel and a newer one with a swivel front wheel.  300 rounds on the older one, 150 or so rounds on the newer one (which I now use with the Alphard ewheels).  These caddyteks are phenomenal and cost about 1/2 the price of the clic gear.  Easy open and close. Not the lightest or most compact but I believe it’s comparable to clic gear.  Highly recommend.

Which one do you like better out of the fixed or swivel front?

I use the swivel with my Alphard ewheels.  Having a swivel is a must with that.  If I was pushing both, I would probably choose the fixed front wheel because it’s a bigger wheel and goes over uneven terrain better.  Also, when I was pushing the swivel wheel cart before I got the Alphard, I almost always locked the front swivel wheel.  So I guess I would say for pushing, I prefer fixed.

BagBoy Nitron for me.  Easy to fold and set up, great console design.  Add in a bag with Top Lok (Datrek is what I use) and you don’t even need straps.

I’ve still got an OG Clicgear. The only thing I wish I’d done was kept the inflatable wheels. They roll much easier versus the solid replacements.

To your point on the pinch….I got a major finger smash almost 20 years ago when I first got it. That warning label is on there for a reason, and it only took making that mistake once. It won’t happen again!

Adaptive Golf.....look out for the one-armed man:
