Favorite Golf Course Logo

With Sedge Valley opening yesterday and absolutely loving their logo (way better than Sand Valley) was curious to see what golf courses you got with your favorite logos?

Old Mac's Ghost Tree logo easily is my #1. Some of my other favs are LACC, Oakmont's squirrel, Kapalua, and Black Sheep. The Quarry's Oreo logo is pretty funny as well.

The Oakmont Country Club squirrel was introduced to the golf world in 1962, largely because the trees that once filled the property provided a perfect sanctuary for the nut-hoarding rodents. Now, as the 116th U.S. Open gets underway, the squirrel is almost as synonymous with Oakmont as the Church Pews bunker and the notoriously thick rough.

There's a lot of cool club logos. Winged Foot is iconic and my sleeper is Moray Golf Club in Scotland.

Came here to say the Old Mac Ghost Tree as well as was listed above. Love the shield logo for Pine Valley too. Something about the tri-color really does it for me.

I have the Ghost Tree on a quarter zip and a cap, and those are my two favorite pieces of golf wear.

 

Other good logos are of course Sleepy Hollow and Maidstone, but Ghost Tree is subtle and cool.

 

Brambles has a great logo also.

I like Tobacco Road pretty well.

Merion another.

Sand Hills "brand looking" logo is fine.

 

Simple picture is best in my book.  Nothing modern or "clipart" looking.  It takes a strong arrangement to make just letters look good to me.

My logo pet peeve: When they insist on putting not just the logo itself, but the course name embroidered along with it. 

 

Prominent examples include Cabot - almost impossible to get anything from any of their properties that doesn't have the big CABOT in Papyrus font beneath the logo. The lobster or the ship would look so clean on their own.

Brambles logo is an awesome one, first saw it on their insta. Have you played there? That's a course I'd love to walk.
