Cleveland HI BORE driver

I know this probably isn't the place to ask this but hopefully someone can tell me where I need to post this question. Has anyone seen the new Cleveland HI BORE driver? It is suppose to look like the Halo hybrid but 460cc. I heard they are going to come out with it later this year because VJ and Toms are so in love with it. Thanks for all the help.

Where did you happen to hear this? It sounds very interesting... I thought the Halo hybrid was a flop? Why incorporate that technology into a driver? Maybe one or more will be in play this upcoming week???

Well, supposedly they are going to come out with it later this year, april/may-ish? Mainly do to the fact that VJ is in love with it. He actually is suppose to have it in play at the Mercedes for the opening week with his new teal colored aldila shaft the VJS? not sure if that's exactly the name of it but I'm close. But yes, the new driver is close to a blown-up Halo which DID NOT flop because working in retail that thing you can't keep in stock.

I don't get it? A blown up version of the Halo? When I look at a Halo I just don't see it I guess. Let a lone something a tour player would use. Can't wait to see this thing

The Comp and the new 460ti just dropped pretty big in price too. Im sure they are trying to jump on the wagon because of the Nike SQ. The whole geometry thing.

The Hi Bore is not a blown up Halo (even though I like Halo a lot). VJ will play it in either Mitsu Shaq (his usual) or the Matrix OZIk TP-7x.

I heard from my Cleveland Rep that the Hi Bore is only 360CC.

It will probably be bigger than that. I don't see smaller clubs coming back into popularity. The shape is going to "trick" the 460cc rule however. Since the top is scooped out, they can actually make the sole and face much bigger because the scoop will change the displacement. Pretty smart, but I'm not sure how I'll feel about the look. I never liked the scooped out hybrid look anyways.

does anyone know if the Launcher J and the HIBORE are replacing both of the current cleveland drivers? With the J replacing the 05 Launcher and the HIBORE replacing the COMP, or vice versa? I like the look of the Launcher J but I'm kinda worried about the huge Halo driver but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Ok to fix what I said earlier Vijay is using the Hi Bore this week with a Mitsubishi shaft but after this week due to that his contract with them are up he will be switching to the Aldila VS Blue Proto shaft and aldila will announce this at I believe the PGA show at the latest. So look for the tealish/blue-ish colored shaft. Though Aldila has a possible Chrome aldila coming out......

Chrome (my eyes, MY EYES!)... So the next new thing to chrome out is golf shafts? lol.

 

The Halo is one great hybrid, I have 2. Gotta try it if you haven't already. I'm still wondering how the Hi-Bore will look. Won't be for traditionalists, that's for sure.

Check CG's main page at (www.clevelandgolf.com) it apears to use the inverted crown technology like the HALO and a nickel insert is added like the J model. There also apears to be some new badging on it. The site says that the Hi-Bore will be coming in April. CAN'T WAIT TO HIT IT!

Yes, the hibore coming out March/april, I am not sure about size though. They are also releasing the GG1's in black pearl, but Im sure evryone knows that already. I was excited to hear it though. I think they're gorgeous.! G

I gotta admit I kinda like it. Its an interesting idea. I hope it performs well. VJ looked like he was hitting it quite well this past week. If the halo is any indication, I'm sure it will be a success.

As for the face being bigger, I think the USGA has a limit on height and length of the faces of drivers
