Rotten...TPC neglects Champions course and puts most their energy to Stadium course before hand. I was just there and I was so let down. Still, you are not going to get much else for less this time of year.

I'm hoping...which amounts to nothing. I'm also semi-regretting playing my most expensive round in the rotation if it sucks.

Nope, just a second opinion. Some people have higher expectations than others. I guess "rotten" is hard to improve on though. Just would be nice to bring down our average cost per round if we could play 36 there one day with the great walking rate.

You can travel to aguila and play 36 for $40. Replay is free, space available. If it's on a weekday, you should have no problem.

NP...It was just a bit of ribbing. But in seriousness, I play there quite often...so my expectations are based on plenty of experience and time on that course. I would say Champions is in my top 5-7 most played courses each year.

Staying at carefree resort in from the 14-19 and looking to play twice the resort shuttle takes you about 7 miles away from resort max what would be the best course inside those parameters..the boulders looks pretty nice

The Boulder is beyond "pretty nice"; they are very good courses. You should be able to get on both if staying at the resort/

Dunes would be about an hour and a half each way from the boulders.

you should have just said Wekopa is your choice regardless of location considering Troon is 15 min away from the Boulders and Wekopa is 45

I will be staying at the Scottsdale Links Resort from Saturday Feb 15 - Wed Feb 19. I will probably just get in one round on probably Monday morning (playing as a single). I'm looking for recommendations that are not too far from the resort (40 minutes or so). Looking for something nice and memorable. Don't really want to pay over $200. I haven't played in 3 months, so the toughest track may not be the best, but I'm not too worried about that. I played Troon North Monument 15-20 years ago and loved it, but I see the price is higher than I want to pay. From reading online, I've seen good things mentioned about Legends Trail and Vista Verde.

Also, restaurant recommendations near the resort would be appreciated.

If you are in a business trip and not renting a car (shuttled to the hotel), then you can play TPC besides where you will stay at, and don't have to spend in transportation, as they will take you to the course that is maybe, maybe 1 mile away. Because is Monday you can try to get a cheap rate in Golfnow. The problem with courses in Scottsdale is spring training. The top courses are packed with MLB players that pay top dollar.

What's a good place for a quick 9? Legend trail has amazing rates on golf now in the afternoons.

The municipals have a good super twilight rate after 3PM. (Cave Creek & Aguila are 2 that I frequent)

Monday is also a holiday. So thatll make it a little tougher getting a good rate.
