Grayhawk or Quintero...thoughts? Which Troon and which we-ko-pa course do you recommend? probably only have 3 rounds...

Grayhawk...since you are here for the party....I would recommend not making an 2+hour rountrip trek out to Quintero and would say play Grayhawk so you can utilize those 2 hours on grabbing some good eats after the round in the area nearby or have time to hang out at the pool...etc.

Play Saguaro at Wekopa.

For Troon North...play Pinnacle.

The only thing I'd add is to play Raptor while at Grayhawk. Quintero is definitely not worth the drive. I'd rather play Monument than either Grayhawk course but not so much that it makes a huge difference.

Also how do you recommend getting to all of these places? We might be 20 people staying at the W hotel in Scottsdale. It seems We Ko Pa is 80 minutes Away?

I don't think we were planning to rent cars but cabs would be very expensive I imagine?

Rent 2 cargo vans, every course you mention is at least a 20 minute drive, closest being grayhawk. I'd assume cabs for everyone would not be cheap

We Ko Pa is nowhere near 80 minutes away from Old Town. Probably about 30, 35 at worst. There are services that will drive groups like yours around but I don't know the names off the top of my head. You see little black buses that do stuff like this all of the time around my neighborhood (I live very close to Troon North). If you are staying at the W there's really nothing all that close to you. I stay there every now and then when we are out late on Saturdays because I have enough SPG points to make it far cheaper to get a suite there (free :) ) than a cab. One thing you should know about the W. I know you are there for a bachelor party but I cannot explain how loud the music is until 2am (or is it 3?) on Saturday night. If you aren't there to stay up until that late then it is the wrong place to stay.

[/quote] +1 on the hotel choice. There is amazing nightlife within crawling distance. If EDM is your thing, checkout Maya, might want to buy tickets in advance depending on who's playing there that weekend.

I think Cholla is closed or just off overseed. Played Tegavah Sunday, can't recommend due to fluffiness. Might want to consider the muni's that didn't overseed or go north to Prescott.

I guess I would be ok with dropping 150+ for a couple 18 hole rounds and less than that for the other. Planning on 18 for 3 days and 36 for 1 day. Lodging I'm ok with up to 150/300 a night. Open for suggestions... Not sure what things are costing there at that time. However I do know it is most expensive later in December. Heading there 18-23 I believe.

For lodging the Scottsdale corridor would be the most central to the majority of the courses you list plus give you easy freeway access to the others.

High End
The W in old town (this would be more of a party scene)
Four Season at Troon
Boulders
Westin Kierland
Sanctuary
Princess at TPC

Others
Marriott at Desert Ridge
There is also a Marriott by TPC that is kind of hidden but still pretty sure they charge a good amount for the room.
There are a ton of boutique hotels especially in and around old town if you are looking for something a bit faster paced.
Always plenty of the budget options too and I use that term loosely in Scottsdale as even those are not so budget.

If you are looking to be here that close to Christmas it is worth starting high and see what kind of deals there are to be found as the week before xmas is often an odd travel time.

I'll be coming out to the Phoenix area during the week of Thanksgiving and staying at the Radisson Ft. McDowell right next to We-Ko-Pa, so I intend to get in at least one round there and probably a second round nearby at Eagle Mountain. I noticed that there is a substantial price break for AZ residents at We-Ko-Pa (and perhaps other courses?), so being the notorious bargain hound (aka cheapskate) that I am, I was wondering how realistic it might be to get the local rate if I'm playing with a local. If this is possible, then who wants to join me?!? I don't have any known golfer buddies out there, but it's not too late to make some new ones! Tentatively, the schedule will be to play Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 26 (most likely We-Ko-Pa) and then again probably either the following Friday or Saturday. Both of the We-Ko-Pa courses sound terrific from what I've read, so I don't have a preference for either.

At wekopa slim to none you will get the locals rate. (unless they have a wekopass)

Eagle mtn and sun ridge I can't speak for but both are on golfnow so that might be your best bet. Sunridge is better than eagle mtn

Thanks for the input. Looks like Sun Ridge Canyon is nearly as close by and the rates are similar to Eagle Mountain so I'll probably try that one.

As a wekopass card holder I am open to accepting bribes to arrange a tee time for you in which you would get my pass rate of 75 or 80 bucks. (I cant recall what the new rates are I think it is 79 that time of year) The downside is you have to play with me lol
