anybody still gaming one?

...perhaps i´m the last dino here, all my buddies playing hybrids (all over the place :cheesy: ) but i still feel comfort with the long irons. What about you for 2010?

I have a Mizuno TN-87 and a Nike full cavity proto 1 iron.. yes I [b]dont[/b] game them. I occasionally carry a 2 though, but not very often.

I still have a Cobra 1-iron in the back of the golf locker. I only carry irons from the 5 on up! With some of the more modern sets you can't even order a 2-iron.

I've got a Mizzy Fli Hi 2 iron that sits in the garage 99.9% of the time. I would sell it, but it probably isn't worth selling.

I still carry a 1 or 2 iron as a matter of routine.

A set-matching 2 iron is in play maybe 75% of the time with an old Ping 1 iron coming out when the course and conditions dictate. Long irons flat out work for me. I grew up playing them, hit them well and can hit a lot of different shots with them with confidence.

Same with my. I have an Eye 2 1 iron that I play now and then. I don't like woods or hybrids very much. Or I guess its the fact that they don't like me...

Sort of - I've been carrying a Mizuno MP Fli-Hi 2 iron (18*) and found that it's just not the easiest club for me to hit consistently. I hit my 3 and 4 irons pretty well, and my 3 wood as well, but I just can't seem to find the middle of the clubface with the Fli-hi. I have hit it fat off a tee several times - and I have a hard time controlling the ballflight. It only fades or goes straight if I really try to work it left - I can't draw it at all, which makes it a bit useless as a driving iron. Off the turf the ballflight is too low and not enough backspin so if I actually do hit a green from 220 with it, the ball usually goes right over the back. Possibly all this is due to the shaft, but it was an inexpensive experiment ($30 ebay buy) and I'm in the market for a 17-18* hybrid.

I still love my 18* 2 iron, and 16* 1 iron is in the mix as well.

I have a Cobra Pro CB deuce. I don't bag it all the time... mainly when it's windy.

Great club to practice with though, seems to keep my iron game really sharp.

MacGregor 1025C and 1025M 2-irons. I actually prefer a 2-iron off the tee on tight shorter holes more than a fairway wood or hybrid. It inspires confidence for some reason for must hit fairways.

I tend to hook 3 woods & hybrids, so I'll bag a 2 iron as long as I can get it in the air.

I still play with a King Cobra Forged SS 2 iron or a TM 300 2 iron. I have trouble with hooking hybrids so I will stick with a 2 iron as long as I can.

I have an old Titleist DCI (black) 2i that I swap in place of my hybrid on occasion. I hit my hybrid better off the deck, so the 2i usually doesnt stay in the bag long, but I do take it out from time to time.

I have an eye2 plus no plus 1 and 2 iron that find their way into the bag depending on which course I play. I know that they are good for tight fairways and days when the big stick is not behaving. I have tried hybrids, no luck for me. I hit them entirely too high, even with low launch shafts. I am with mat on this one, i love long irons and they have a lot of uses....

My driving iron shaft matches my irons (KBS 5.5) only it's not black nickel.

I play a 2 iron off and on depending on mood, course, and inability. I really like crushing a two iron off the tee or the fairway. I can't duplicate the accuracy of my 2 iron with a driver, 3 wood, or hybrid. From the rough tho' a good strike is a matter of luck, planetary alignment, and channeling Hogan's ghost.

My Fli-Hi has the same shaft as my irons... S300...

I'd be willing to bet just about anything that I'd strike a blade 2-iron better than it.... it is a bit clunky with lots of offset.

I play the set matching 2 iron all of the time. It is equivalent to a 5 wood for me, only more workable and I can hit better shots with it. I called club finders every week for a year and finally bought a used set of my same clubs just for the 2 iron and shelved the 3-PW. I had been playing a 681T 2 iron for a few years that I found in a bargian bin.

I use x100 in it, just like the rest of the clubs.

oh yeah --- for both my sets --- callaway prototype 2 & a nike blade 2 iron as well --- I love them --- I hit them more than a few times almost every round

I still carry a 2-iron in both my sets. Always have and always will. I've tried hybrids in the past but never got on with them - I just prefer the long iron which works for me.

The ping 19° hybrid is staying for a long time though... Just haven't found anything for the slot between this and the driver that I like...

Sometime i have problems with the Cally Proto´s 2/3 iron especially when its cold and it ends up right. So i bought a 2 and 3 FT from cally preowened in NS Pro GH 1100 uniflex and the problem is solved.
