I attended a Duramed Futures event in my area a couple of weeks ago, and got to see Ryann O'Toole and Lili Alvarez play several holes, as both were in contention. Stacy was in the field, and missed the cut by a mile, and Taryn & Carling were there - both made the cut but finished well back.

Lili was struggling with the windy conditions on the final day, and she is certainly not one to hide her emotions! I'm already waiting for comments along the lines of "low-rent Christina Kim" once the episodes start rolling! Ryann O'Toole is an absolute sweetheart, and really has some game to boot as well. She pounds the ball for someone who's not particularly tall or strong-looking - I paced one of her drives at 267 on a totally flat fairway with a left to right crosswind. She hit a tee shot into some tall grass on a par-5, and heandled the situation with a lot of poise and grace, and didn't allow it to rattle her. She was clearly in the mix on Sunday, when she hit a tee shot to an awkward spot on the green of the par-3 8th, and four-putted to take the wind out of her sails. She played well enough down the stretch to end up finishing T5. She was actually coming off a win in the previous event in Kansas.

I'm looking forward to this Big Break...bring on the ladies:0) I've not seen all of the BBs(just the last three) and I enjoyed the co-ed series the best. I have to agree with awsi though... I don't like the "voting" gimmick. Could cause too much of a soap-opera effect. Just have to wait and see.

I'm also hoping that Golf Gal will be interviewing the contestants on her blog again this season. listening to those interviews adds a lot to my enjoyment of the show as we get to hear about some behind the scenes stuff that we don't see on the show.

I reckon they've properly "Jumped the Shark" as soon as they start featuring slo mo bikini shots on a golf entertainment show.

These gals will get "Super Sweet 16" annoying real soon - but that's just me.

I'm not sure what E's thinking was in picking Kelly for the immunity challenge, but it appeared she didn't really pick who she thought she could beat, maybe not wanting to offend anyone. Just goes to show, you can't care about being nice or making friends.

Hard to say for sure from the few shots we've seen, but I think one of the better golfers just went home. From almost being immune to being gone - that was a fast slide.

Elena definitely had the best swing of the group...I don't know how solid her shortame is but I dont think this is the last time we will hear her name. Just look at Matt Every, he got knoked out very early and now he is on the PGA tour.

Pretty surprising outcome IMO. Elena had tons of confidence and Mayia looked like she wanted to be anyplace but there, but credit to her; she stepped up and made all the shots. Agree with the above about Elena. Her swing looked solid and I'm sure this won't be the last we hear from her. Pretty good first episode overall. It was nice to see the "old" woman stick it in there when she was called-out too.

what do you guys think of the guy host? i personally think he sucks at his job so far. i feel like he talks to us the audience like we are 5 years old and states the totally obvious then acts like he said something super profound. maybe its just the accent that makes me think he is trying to be very intellectual.

my take on the contestants... man there are some hotties. i was sad to see 2 of the top 3 hotties in elimination. by then i was rooting for the hottest hotty she is gone now =(. i wish the only non hotty on the show would stop talking about how spicy she is and how fiery she is. you said you want to let your clubs do the talking so you go ahead and do that.

He's acted that way every time I've seen him on any other GC show. I do enjoy Stephanie Sparks, though.

Right off the bat I didn't like their challenges. Its tough enough to hit the closest shots out of 12 people, then you have to win again. I would have skanked that first attempt so you would hopefully be the one chosen. Seems to me that your odds of winning immunity would be better that way than trying to hit the best out of the bunch and then have to beat someone again.

Then in the elimination challenge they get points for hitting the fairway but don't have to play it from where they hit it. I could very well be wrong here but it looked like the second girl was hitting a fairway wood off the tee(maybe both of them) and then the approach shots, why not the scoring rings like they've always had. The three shots on the green were barely on, while the first girl(Elana?) hit one close, one not bad and one that just missed the green. No real reward for a better quality shot.

I think some of the changes are going to be a little questionable this year. Winning challenges just gives you opportunities to make an enemy out of someone else. Sounds like the GC is really trying to amp up the pettiness this time. Were the last couple too cordial

I'll be rooting for Sara Brown to stick around for a while. She seems to have a good game, and is pretty entertaining. Plus she is gorgeous. That's the trifecta isn't it?
