ATOMIC are a great company, never had a problem with them, Third Wave I would recommend, Puresuto, are good, Greenfil,
remember the time difference when communicating, shipping usually 7-10 days UK, compared to the US which is 12-14 if your Lucky.
I have a account with Tenso, easy to set up, and you can consolidate packages if you buy from a couple of different companys.

You always look at Victoria Golf, they are not on Rakuten but they do great deals.

Probably at least 20 bucks for a wedge but i would say closer to 30 give or take. I ordered an iron set friday night and saw that they are already in NY today.

One thing about Puresuto is that they charge domestic consumption tax which is not applicable for export sale. When asked them about it, they call it handling fee for export sale which is on top of shipping of course. That's a bunch of BS. Do they actually pay the govt this tax? I never use a consolidator or forwarder like Tenso if I deal direct with stores on Rakuten.

Well then buy from someone else. I would charge you the fee too because someone has to physically go somewhere with the packed merchandise to mail it and fill out a bunch of forms that you don't see. For Japanese customers, the delivery company will pick it up at the business. And this is in addition to having to respond to emails in a foreign language.

Normally I would ( go elsewhere) but on this instance they have the best price for a superman driver that I want. For shafts and grips and othe accessory, golfhands has the best price. Atomic golf is good too. You are on rakuten and would you don't expect to do export business?

Not everyone on Rakuten does export and export is a small market. It's probably more of a pain in the butt to the vendor, mostly because the foreigners complain about everything.

rakuten seems to be a growing trend that is a great source for jdm gear, but because the $ is strong and yen is weak right now, people are buying a lot of things up and coincidentally, I've noticed bst/classifieds for jdm gear being extremely slow and weak lately.

anyone else notice this and think maybe rakuten purchases have anything to do with it?

I love rakuten, all vendors seem to be great. The next irons I am getting are going to be onoff kuros, and I am getting a new wedge set soon that likely will come from rakuten.

Awesome. The thing is, for the Bridgestone CB on Greenfil they have a price for a 6 piece set (5-PW), then the option to add a #4 Iron, which is great, but it doesn't alter the price for the #4 Iron when you put it into the 'basket'. And when I go to check out, it still comes up with the price for the 6 piece set (5-PW) and doesn't allow for the #4 Iron. Still, maybe I will get lucky and they won't add the price onto the total when they send me the Paypal request, won't know until I try it I suppose. Just don't want any surprises come check out time. The other option is to shoot them an email I guess, as I've been told they do correspond ok in English.

Got my clubs the other day. Took about a month but they were custom orders. Ordered through Greenfil. They're top notch and packaged to the max. They even threw in a box of balls for the wait! Nothing but top notch things to say.

Custom duty tax/fee is irrelevant as to which store you order from. I have ordered from several JDM stores, including the ones you mentioned, and was charged from $0 to ~4.6% of declared items amount in duty taxes. Usually the mail carrier would ask you to write a check upon delivery to Postal Master. Twice I also had to pay for insufficient postal fees, about $8-10 each time I think, no biggie. YMMV

I just ordered a new bag off Rakuten and got my first email the same day. Its all in Japanese and google translate is incredibly rough. Any chance someone wants to take a look and help me out with my next steps?

Rakuten is v good, however....not all brands are carried there and some not the best prices..like miura.

Your first email may be bad, sometimes you get a good second one in English. You need to get the shipping cost from it and approve that with a return email. Rakuten is pretty solid, but also not 100% always best price and pretty limited. I still like it. Planning on getting kuros from there at some point....

What you got the same day is probably an auto-generated email from Rakuten itself with the shop on cc. That one is just an order confirmation. The important one to look for is the one from the shop directly (which will most likely be in Japanese also). I use Google Translate, and you have to read between the lines and make some assumptions.

Which shop did you buy from? Each shop does things differently. I've bought from Ebisuya (my favorite so far), Power Golf, Premium Golf, and others.
