Best Course you have ever played....

I don't think anything can ever beat the experience of playing The Old Course at St Andrews. The wind was howling when I played Whistling Straits and it was probably the hardest round of golf I've ever played, but it was still an amazing and fun round. When I played the Plantation Course at Kapalua, the wind was blowing so hard the ball would get blown around after marking and placing it on the green. The views on some of the holes there are unbelievable.

Yes, both... Nothing beats Augusta National for its perfection and greens, and Pine Valley is the most consistently difficult course I've ever seen. They say your first or second round at Pine Valley will be your best, and they were right in my case. The more you learn about the possible trouble, the harder it is to pull the trigger without worry, and Pine Valley is not long at all -- but a wayward shot is penalized so harshly that you get a little gun shy. Augusta National takes time and you have to learn its subtle features. The more you play it the more comfortable you become. They are very different tracks but both have outstanding and distinctive greens that require absolute precision, but I guess that is obvious.

Most overrated: Torrey Pines South (poor condition, very slow pace of play)

I would agree with Victoria National. That is BY FAR the hardest course I've ever played (only played from tips) and also the prettiest I've ever played. The closing stretch of holes starting with 14 is the best I've ever seen and can rival most anything you will see on the PGA Tour, Sawgrass included. A true gem.

Second would be Valhalla.

If your going to travel to the other side of the world it's gotta be worthwhile!... i have played tournaments and worked in the industry for 20 years and have kept every business card along the way, "if you ever come to the states let me know, i'd be happy to host you at our club"....

The east coast trip will be 25 days of heaven!!!! All built around 2 days at ANGC. I have already started planning.

It is truly a masterpiece by Donald Ross. Everything is right there in front of you - no gimmicks - just beautiful tree lined fairways, thick rough, perfectly placed bunkers, meandering creeks, cashmere fairways, and slick / subtle greens.

nice choice. I love that course especially since I live not too far from it. You need to come back to Colorado and play Colorado Golf Club or try to get on Sanctuary.

Pinehurst # 2 for me too. I love the golf course. It is very hard on and around the greens which is what I enjoy. Very different from most other courses.

i played raven golf club in phoenix last friday... by far THE NICEST course ive ever seen! the place was in immaculate condition. the fairways were plush and the greens were FAST, a little too fast for me. i think they said they were running at 11, which from my understanding is PGA speed... i cant say enough great things about this course.. from the employees to the condition of the course, it was just awesome! everyone there was very helpful and nice as could be!

i was amazed at how nice this course is for the price we paid. $55 got range balls, a cart, and the green fee... im still in awe of this place!
