Best Course you have ever played....

Peachtree Golf Club. I've played a number of championship courses (Spyglass, East Lake, Glenn Abbey, a few others), but nothing was like Peachtree.

Banff Springs in Banff, BC. A rather pedestrian selection compared to some of the others listed here, but beautiful and fun nonetheless. Too bad they don't make you tee off from the hotel anymore. One of the most nerve racking shots in my golf career.

I have been blessed enough to play many in the Top 100. However, if I was told I could only play one course for the rest of my life, it would be the Old Course; hands down. Cypress is pretty, but strategically, nothing compares to the Old. She changes every day.

Wow, I've never heard someone who has played both Cypress and TOC actually prefer TOC.

Wolf Run Golf Course in Zionsville Ind., outside of Indianapolis. Got a chance to stay there 3 days to play back in the late 90's and it was a blast.

I can't really rank courses in terms of which one is "better" than another. All I can manage is sorting them into broad groups like my five or six very favorite courses I've played, then another group of courses that I like more than most but not quite in that top half-dozen. Then the ones that are OK but nothing special.

The one exception to that is Cypress Point Club. Clearly the "best" morning I've ever spent with a golf club in hand. In its own category. The setting and experience would be extraordinary even if the course itself were ho-hum and the course itself would be awesome even if it were in a less spectacular setting. Just remarkable.

raven nest in huntsville, TX where i went to college, many have probably never heard of it. i haven't done any traveling to play golf but this is my all time favorite course and you can't beat $23 for a round with cart if you are a student, and i think $59 for non-students. greens are ALWAYS an 8-9/10 IMO and the fairways are kept nice during the summer. its been fairly brown lately due to the texas drought.

Carnoustie- I had the pleasure of playing it on a windy day(hard to beileve in Scotland (: ). There really is not an "easy" shot on the golf course. It really is tremendous. I would love to go back some day.

Back in the states, I really enjoyed the round at Pinehurst #2. I can only imagine that it must be really something after the most recent "facelift".

Lakota Canyon in Colorado. Amazing views, incredible beauty all around, and the course was in pristine condition. Absolutely will be back!

Being from West Virginia I've not had the opportunity to play any of the big name courses but my favorite is a course in the southern part of the state Twisted Gun Golf Club. I'm sure it's definitley not on the level of a Pebble Beach or any of the other top 100 courses but it sits on one of the more unique pieces of land you will ever find a golf course. The entire course sets on a reclaimed mountain top removal sight and it's truly a neat place to play and with no trees on sight it plays like a links style course with quite a bit of wind blowing through the top of the mountain. With that said my brother in law has moved to Charleston SC so I'm bagging my first of the big boys this spring with a trip to the ocean course :good: . Heres a pic of one of the true gems of Wild Wonderful.

For Savannah area - completely agree! Love that course. Front and back 9 seem like two different courses. I've played it 3 times and enjoy every time.

I don't have many gems under my belt, but the best course Ive played would be TPC Sawgrass Players Stadium. Played there last year about 3 weeks before The Players, and was actually the last person to play on the last day before they closed it in preparation for the tour. Didn't even give any donations to the water gods at 17.

Best? Or favorite? It's surely not the best, but this is probably my favorite so far.

I once played Los Angeles CC North Course in the morning and Riviera in the afternoon. That was far and away the best thing about being in the golf biz, playing places i would never get the chance to otherwise.

The Old Course. It just reeks of history and tradition. It's a pretty fun course to play too!
Teeing off on #1 I could barely feel my legs. Thankfully the fairway is one of the widest I've ever seen!
