Pebble Beach.

Got a last minute call to fill in for a group of guys...and jumped at the chance. Just got back - 3 days, played all the courses, and PB 3 times! I feel very fortunate and lucky to have been asked.

definitely Pacific Dunes at Bandon. My first round there in 2004 was by myself and i only saw one other group on the course early in the round. Felt like I had the whole course to myself.

Olympic Club (Lake) on a Monday. The place was empty and we had the whole place to ourselves. Brand new greens and the new #8 is great hole.

And

The Old Course...the perfect golf course.

Played some big time courses but i have 2 that stand out for me:
Arcadia Bluffs
and I haven't seen this course on here anywhere else but I love it
Panther Lake at Orange County National

Pacific Dunes , Old Mac. and Chambers bay. I love courses with NO houses surrounding them.

The Homestead or Pinehurst #2 or the honors course in ooltewah, tn.

Crystal Downs in Michigan is the best -- hands down. The problem I have is that when I tell people....they've never heard of it. Check your best courses in America list and it shows up. Alistaire Mackenzie design.

Played Kiawah -- hated it.
Played Pebble -- Great course. Horrible weather the two days I was there.
Firestone -- played well that day. Made me like it.

My favourite has to be Mount Juliet in Ireland . A great Jack Nicklaus design it has seen two WGC events Tiger winning one. It is amazing that one of the worlds best courses is only 30 mins from my house and because I am on an academy elite squad there I can play there for free

pebble beach for most scenic along with its history

tpc sawgrass for its difficulty especially when you're playing in very strong winds !

+1 on Arcadia Bluffs. I played it the first time ever this year. With the early spring here in Michigan, I finally got there on the last day of spring rates and the course was in amazing shape (not count the two big sod-wall bunkers under repair).

Next is the course played the day before: Forest Dunes, Roscommon, MI

Third best: Eagle Eye, Bath MI

I'd love to travel outside the state more to get to some other good ones, but for now, it is these three.

Close runners-up include Lahinch, Ballybunion(old course) and Waterville all in Ireland.

In the United States it's Pebble Beach,Estancia and Seminole. All too close to pick just one.

Bobby Jones course he grew up on in Atlanta called East Lake, They played the Fed Ex cup there. Also outside Atlanta Hawks Ridge. Both are private which makes it hard . East Lake wins out those two. I aced second hole at East Lake which sways me a little.

Poppy Hills GC in Monterey, CA - got a deal during the US Open @ Pebble Beach in 2010 and played it for $95!

 

Greens were ridiculously fast.
