I've done my i3's twice now. Had a red and blue theme, but have now changed them to white. The white looks simple and classic.

I used paint removal gel to clean them out, a fine'ish brush and automotive touchup paint for the fills. The first time I did them I was cautious and it took a while as I didn't want to go outside the lines.

This time I pretty much just slapped it on with lots of overspill. I did them at night, then the next morning cleaned it up. I use a cotton bud dipped in mineral turps and the excess squeezed off. None dripped into the writting but it cleaned off the excess pretty good.

I didn't notice much if any of the paint coming off from normal play and cleaning. I don't practice off mats tho.

Thanks mate. I saw everyone else was trying it so i thought i would give it a go.

I used Tamiya model paints for model cars and stuff. They are acrylic and work well, but took ages to dry. I had to give them about 3 or 4 coats!!!

Here is a couple of pics of my pimped out Taylor Made Rossa TP Imola 6-02 Putter. I used Testers yellow to fill in the sight dot and the writing on the sole. I also added a yellow line on the flange. Its kind of fun to tweak your clubs to see what your buddies will say!!!

I have put it on eBay for sale if anyone is interested in it.

Ok guys... After I read this thread, I got excited and decided to give it a go... Here is what I did:

Driver and 3+ wood:

Baffler (Went with navy blue, but I really didn't like it, so I've been waiting for it to come off some so I can go with yellow)

Aussie Putter:

I was experimenting with some neon Orange paint that wouldn't stick in any wedges or clubs and I finally got it to stay in the sole...

On the neck, I painted the "Aussie" with the colors of the Colombian Flag...

On my irons, I painted the numbers red... That is about it on the irons, since the Carbon CBs don't have any marks on the back...

The wedges have some yellow on the sole

The 52* is pretty simple, just black and yellow

My 58* is my work of art, I'm proud of it... I spent a little more time on it... The spin milled circle is red and the BV wings have the colors of the Colombian Flag...

Here is the Whole bag

That looks great! Kudos to you!

:(

Thanks Boon! I have to say, it's pretty rewarding to see your clubs and KNOW that no one has the same set...

If you are reading this thread and are debating whether you should try it or not, I would highly recommend that you do... is pretty simple and can make you feel better about your golf... If its getting cold where you are, even better... this is a nice and simple "winter golf project"...

Cheers

****Possible Captain Obvious Warning****

I did some paint fill on my irons (numbers on the bottom), and also a full color change on my Vokey wedges a couple weeks ago (thanks to you guys). I have played a couple rounds and had no problems with the paint chipping or wearing off. I cleaned the clubs with warm water and a toothbrush and yet again, had no problems with anything wearing off........Soooooooo I go to a range tonight to work on my irons and wedges game and I hit off the grass area (I hate those darn mats) and all is going great till I was done and I look at the bottom of my 7 iron and the paint is GONE. DOH!!

The grass hitting area at this particular range has a lot of sand mixed in as is the norm for a lot of ranges and wouldnt you know that sand just LOVES to eat paint......DOH!!

The "oooopsie" look on my face must have been priceless after seeing that it had did this to every one of my irons.

The good thing is that you can re-paint the numbers on your own... I've painted my 58* a couple of times because the bunker eats up the paint where the number was ground...

Well I just picked up some acrillyic water based paint for $.50 bottle. I filled in all my wedges irons and woods back to stock on the faces and soles with black and white. Im gonna see how well it holds up before I try some of the other colors I picked up( green, blue, red). So which paint holds better, acrillyic or enamel?!?! I think all the clubs everyone has posted look good in there own right, if its just some more white/black or some bright crazy colors, they all look good.

Well the water based acryllic paint was a failure. As I started to wash my clubs this afternoon and it all came off while I was scrubbing with my soft bristled brush. O well, no biggy, I only spent $3 for 6 bottles of the stuff. Looks like next up is the enamel paint, has the enamel paint really held up for all you guys!? Does anyone know if the golfsmith paint pens are enamel? Thanks.
