You know you're a club ho when you look at your sig, that you updated last week, and don't even recognize half the stuff. "Wait, I had that?"

Ping G Stretch 12*.... Ping Tour 80 (stiff)

Adams XTD TI 18*(set to 17*) Matrix Altus (stiff)

Bettinardi Queen Bee 6 putter (34inches)

I will give it a try!

I think you are quite good, especially in your short game. I would guess that you are not the longest from the tee but consistent. You have periods when the driver is hot and just as long periods when you feel that you could miss the planet. When that happens you trust your strong 3wood/mini driver and often leave the driver in the car.

You recently switch irons from an Adams set, mostly because of the looks of the iblades.

You have gone through a numbers of putters but you now think that you have found your holy grail.

34 years old. 7 handicap.

You did quite good. A traditionalist, yes very much. The clubs should look a certain way for me to bag them. I think I would be putting better with one of the space ships but I can't stand them. I am around 8. My strength is irons and wedges. I can hit the ball quite far (not by wrx standards but longest among my friends) but when I miss... well, then I miss big.

I am 34. Two kids so less playing than I want but I get a couple of 9-holes here and there.

I actually did try the 745 irons and driver and liked them A LOT. The irons are magically long for no reason, the loft and length doesn't seem to be jacked up so not really sure where the distance came from. The driver works well for me as well for a off the rack set up. But like I said, the only reason why I went with all Titleist is because I have Titleist Performance Institute within driving distance, otherwise if the world of golf has no such thing as custom fit, I'd go with all Srixon for sure, excluding the putter though lol

Srixon does fitting. You can get fit at local golfstores too. That's what I did.

I've been using Titleist woods foe years, but the irons are mehh.

Guy I played with yesterday was incredible, but his bag spoke otherwise. He was a former Class A (some 15 years ago) and played to scratch but his sticks were the following:

Beat up TM RBZ w/ stock stiff shaft

Old Ping Rapture 3 & 5 woods (the original, not the V2)

Adams CB2 that had definitely seen better days

TM ATV wedges (first person I've ever seen with this in the bag!)

TM Rossa putter

He shot a -1 (69) at our course and must have either lipped out or burnt the edges of at least 10 birdie putts. The only birdies he made all day was when he stuck a shot on a 2 different par 3 to about a foot and a half. He had that old school style swing that was super fluid but just incredible to watch.

Big boy clubs. You hit the ball a mile away but you can also finesse it with the buttery smooth MP4's. You hit your wedges a bit too high so you put the X7's in there to lower the flight and reduce spin. Your misses are duck hooks or blocks to the right since you have a flatter swing. You compensate by bending the clubs a few degrees flat. Weaknesses in your game may be distances 100 yards and in. Great bag man, I know i would never challenge you in a long drive contest.

Alright, I gotta be honest, if I'm playing someone and I see a seemore I strap up the shoes a little tighter. The guy can putt.

Seeing your wedges I think the strength of your game comes around and on the greens.

The iron and "hybrid driving iron" setup tells me that you may struggle from time to time with your ballstriking.

Which is a shame because you are long (like Lama long, striking) and find a lot of fairways.

I would say 5-8 index, but if you hit more greens (from spit A in the fairway) you'd be scratch.

Anywhere close?

Very close! Ever since I switched to Seemore I've never looked back. Short game and putting are strengths of mine. Ball striking consistency is my weakness. I'm pretty streaky, I'll attribute that to my learning the game on my own without ever having taken a lesson. Originally I gamed MP 54's, which were amazing (when i was hitting them great). But switching to more forgiving longer irons have helped minimize bad swings. I average about 270-285 carry with the driver on good days. But when the driver is acting up, it goes into the bag and I go to my trusty 3w to find plenty of fairways. Last but not least, I hovered around a 5-8 handicap this season. You're exactly right. If I could consistently hit greens in regulation, I would score much better. Well, at least I know what to practice on!

Ok, I always enjoy checking in on this thread but have never posted here. I'd guess your short game and putting are the best parts of your game based on the classic wedges and putter. Everyone that I've seen use a Craz-e seems to get the ball in the hole. Burner 2.0s could go either way as far as handicap, but I'd definitely say you are looking for distance. Hard to say with the rest, but I'd say handicap of 12 and age 55 based solely on r-flex 3 wood and no specific shafts listed. I'm ready to be very wrong.

My bag:

Driver: M1 Rogue Silver 70s

3 Wood: Xhot Pro 13.5 deg. PXv 6.0

3 iron: Ping Crossover Steelfiber i95 stiff -.75 inches

4-9: Original AP2s PX 6.0

46, 50: Vokey SM5 s300

54: Ping Gorge s300

Putter: Seemore mFGP

Your driver setup doesn’t tell me anything.

With a low-lofted 3-wood and a shaft that’s about the same weight as your driver shaft (I think), I’d say (1) you’re wild with the driver, (2) you absolutely murder the 3-wood and almost don’t need a driver (a la Stenson), or (3) both of the above.

Only one fairway wood at the top end of the bag suggests a long hitter.

Your 3-iron is not part of a set so you clearly put a lot of thought into your setup (same reasoning applies to having three brands represented among your four wedges). It has a graphite shaft, so you’re not a young guy, and your pointing out its shorter length tells me this is a trusty fairway finder.

The original AP2s show you’re not all about the supposed latest and greatest.

Your pitching wedge doesn’t match your iron set either, so that could mean (but doesn’t at all guarantee) you’re a stick.

Seemore putter equals good putter.

Based on all of this, my guess is you’re in your forties or maybe early fifties with a handicap of around 5. Am I remotely close?

Here’s my bag (Sun Mountain Four 5):

Titleist 915D3 (9.5*) GD Tour AD BB 6S

Titleist 910F (15*) GD Tour AD DI 7S

Adams Tight Lies 2 (19*) GD Tour AD DI 7S

PXG 0311XF (3-4), 0311 (5-PW) KBS C-Taper (stiff)

Titleist Vokey SM5 M Grind (54*, 60*) KBS Wedge (stiff)

Edel McKenzie (34”)

I’m about to pull the trigger on the PXGs. They’ll be replacing my TaylorMade Tour Preferred set (also 3-PW, from 2008) with KBS Tour shafts (stiff).

WITB

TaylorMade M5 (10.5) Graphite Design Tour AD GP 6 S

Callaway Rogue ST MAX (15) Graphite Design Tour AD F-75 S

Ping G425 (19) Mitsubishi TENSEI CK Pro Orange Hybrid 80 S

Mizuno MP-53 (4-PW, 22-46) Nippon Pro Modus 3 Tour 120 S

Titleist Vokey SM9 (50.12 F, 54.10 S @ 55, 60.10 S) Nippon Pro Modus 3 Tour 120 S

Edel McKenzie (35)

I just went from playing 12 year old Nike Slingshots, and a thrift store R7 Driver, to my new bag. I included prices and how I bought them, as it might factor into what people think. I'm a single 20-something that lives on his own. So money is always tight, and updating my bag was done on a pretty tight budget.

Driver: SLDR 430 TP (eBay, $170)

3 Wood: SLDR S (Golfsmith used, $40)

4 Wood: Callaway Hawkeye VFT, super worn out Winn grip (12 years old)

3 Hybrid: SLDR S (Golfsmith used, $20)

4-PW: TaylorMade TP MC (eBay used, $350)

52/56: MD3 Black (Callaway Pre Owned, BOGO)

Putter: Yes! (12-15 years old)

Bonus pictures to show my flamboyant style.

I believe original rules are reply to one and then post yours so here goes my reply...

My bet is you are a 3 handicap index... the strengths of your game are hitting it dead straight and putting like crazy. I would personally hate to play you for money because as you drain putts on me with those multi-color balls it would drive me up the wall!!

Ok here goes mine:

All of this is in a black ping hoofer stand bag, and although I hate to admit it that bag now gets placed on a Clicgear 3.5 as carrying for 18 just doesnt agree with my neck.

Ping G30 - 18* - AD-MT 7S

Titleist 915H - 21* - Aldila ATX Tour Blue

Titleist 716 TMB - 4 & 5 iron - Tour AD-HY

Titleist 714 AP2 - 6-PW - C-Taper

Titleist SW4 - 50*, 54*, 48*

Odyssey #7

Looks to me like you've found a driver+shaft combo that works well for you. Probably enjoy the added launch and distance of the AD DI, and of course that orange running down to a black shiny titleist head looks gorgeous. The Ping G30 must have made its way into the bag due to outperforming the 18* titleist offering...OR you have a Ping Hoofer bag and knew you had to have one Ping club in the bag to balance it out. Clearly you don't mind dropping some serious coin on the best equipment out there - as you play 4 Graphite Design shafts. TMB's in the long irons, and AP2's in the short irons - because you're a 4 handicap who doesn't mind a little bit of forgiveness. You play 2 generations old Vokey's - because once again you play what works - and lets face it, not only would 3 SM6's break the bank - you know exactly how to play your SM4's out of every lie. Odyssey #7 because you like the feel of a blade, but the distance control and forgiveness of a mallet. So why not have both?

I'd say you're a 4 hdcp or lower, play some tournament golf, and probably live in Washington DC. Oh and you wear elegant turquoise pants sometimes when you're golfing.

Here's mine:

Driver: Taylormade M2 9.5* - Graphite Design AD BB 6X

3-Wood: Taylormade M2 15* - Graphite Design AD DI 7X

Irons: Nike Vapor Pro Blades - DG Pro S300

Wedges: Nike Engage 52*SS/56*TS/60*DS

Putter: Nike Oven 006 Rory Prototype

Balls: Nike Rzn Tour Dot Platinum

Bag: Nike Platinum Staff

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
