This should be interesting (for me at least!):
MATCH 33 – Aaron Baddley, International vs Tiger Woods, U.S
They were paired together last week at the Australian Open and seemed to get along quite well.
So you down with my offer or do you not really believe what you preach? How about a sleeve or premium balls?
1. I don't gamble. At all.

2. While I like Aaron Baddeley both personally and as a golfer, not one time have I ever bragged on this board or anywhere else about what a great a golfer he is or how he will win this tournament or that. I don't place any self-value on how well Aaron Baddeley plays golf and I don't think he does either. There are things in this world that are much, much more important than golf.

Excited to see Mickelson and Bones versus Scott and that "pr*ck" Stevie. No love lost there.

More Tiger talk - look away if you must: Tiger has been saying all along that his game is a "process." Like all processes, it has to evolve in stages. First came the physical part of trusting his legs. Now, the swing changes he's been going through with Foley appear to be taking hold - look at the fairways hit the last two weeks, as well as GIR's. The ball striking has been very crisp and he's showing touch around the greens with the wedges again. Once he can feel he's locked in at that level of the process, I think the putting game can get his full attention. He's using another style Method putter (Anser - and Scotty - style as opposed to mid-mallet). He's not missing by much, been burning a lot of edges, but his speed/touch has looked good, much improved (remember that missed 2 footer at Augusta on Sunday afternoon!!). I agree that if the ball doesn't drop all the other stuff doesn't matter, but I also think that the ball is going to begin to drop real soon and then -- look out!

I don't see his putting ever returning to it's previous excellence. All the other stuff you refer to is fixable but the only person that ever could correct Tiger's putting when it went south was Earl. After Earl passed away Tiger would always return to the basics but didn't have Earl to confirm it. The fact he is constantly (for him) changing putters only adds to the fact he has lost his basics. This is an area that Foley will never be able to fix. Plus add to that he is in his mid 30s now when the lack of confidence starts to set in on putting (some called it the yips---which Tiger doesn't have yet). That is when putts don't fall anymore. Whether it is loss of ability to read putts or control the nerves, or put the perfect stroke on the putt----all add up to degraded putting. None of his physical ailments would have prevented him from still being a good putter. Only a bad back possibly which he only has occasional problems with impact practicing putting..

I really do agree on this post. I've read it a couple of times and it all make complete sense. Tiger has looked like he's definately on his way back in the last two weeks in Australia. He's close, real close, there's no denying that fact. People can dismiss him all they like, but he is clearly showing the golfing world his ball stiking is becoming much purer alongside his accurracy, and his putting needs a slight tweak and he's pretty much back in contention. His game has improved such a great deal including his short game. I'm no fan of Tiger, but for the game of golf, I'm licking my lips at the prospect of competition, which Tiger thrives on without doubt.

Why the eff is Stricker anchoring this thing?

Maybe Freddie thinks it will be over before then?
probably, you would tend to put your better guys in the middle just to prolong it as long as possible, and then just hope for the best from the back-end guys

or for the US, you want to finish it quick

DJ kind of has the ol' "Fred Couples' Reluctant Superstar" thing going. He just isn't hardwired to handle intense pressure very well.

Nutters, Greg and Freddie!!

Could you imagine a group of fans doing that to Monty! Dear lord he'd have absolutely no sense of humour would he!!
Would never happen as the fans would be forewarned that Monty may eat them, and/or their regalia as an appetizer.

Its pretty simple when it comes to Tiger. Guys who like him will defend to the end and guys that dont will hate till the end. Yes hes hit the ball very well this week and thats encouraging but if he cant put the ball in the hole none of it matters.
I don't think a lot of people "hate" Tiger. I don't. I don't like him - but hate is not it either. For me, it's simple. He's not one of the 10 best American golfers today and was obviously on the team for some reason other than his current performance.

Maybe Couples thought he is "clutch" and hoped he would step it up under the brightest lights...but hope is not a good strategy. I'd have much rather seen Freddy bring a guy who we saw play good golf in the summer of 2011. I don't hate TW. I don't like him either - but for me, team events like this should have the best players, not guys selected for other reasons. Couples obviously disgrees...and he's the captain...but in doing that, he opens himself up to be second guessed. The good thing is, that baring a major collapse in the final round, Tiger won't have prevented the team from winning...and that's all that is really important.

While I don't disagree with you wholly in theory, we must take into account that having Sticker and DJ as playing partners was the equivalent to a Pro-Am against two (2) International Pros.
