OMG I finnally got my i20's...I am in love. I did not get fitted for a shaft and did not even hit them before ordering. Just went with my old fiiting specs and guessed at regular flex cfs

I went to a shop and hit yesterday on their launch monitor. I took my g10 and my s57s to compair. Well I gained 8 yards over my g10's and 15 over my s57's. Dear god I love these clubs....

Im sure its the combination of the new i20 head and those sweet cfs shafts, but I think it has to be that the shafts in my g10's and s57's were just not correct at all. There is no reason why I should have gained that much distance on one club.

Is anyone else seeing distance gains?

Ping..... Thank You.... and the confidence these clubs give me when looking down, Im gonna break 70 for the fist time this year.......

I am waiting to hear from someone who compared the CFS Stiff to PXi 6.0 or 5.5's

Spin and Launch Angle
TMBob,
I hit CFS Stiff and launched them at 20 degrees with a spin close to 8000. I was playing PXi 6.0 in my x-proto's so I tried that shaft next. Launch was 19 degrees and the spin was roughly 7700. The fitter then picked the KBS Tour Stiff, a shaft which I never would have chose. My launch came down to 17 and my spin came down to 7200. However, the thing I noticed the most was a much tighter ball flight. With the CFS and PXi was drawing the ball quite a bit. I am more than happy to share this info but I couldn't stress more the need to get fit for these irons if you really want to maximize your results.
Good to know, thanks

I will set up a fitting with those three to compare........I have only hit my 7 iron out of my set and it's just OK with the CFS S soft stepped.

First time poster and new i20 iron purchaser. Thought I'd add my experience.

I'm a 9 handicap and a bit of a digger. I have 690 cbs, but it was time to get some more forgiveness and these equipment forums are brutal for someone itching for a golf fix. Too cold to play – but plenty warm to buy clubs....

I hit a bunch of irons, including i20, S56, AP2, MP 59, MP 53 and TM Tour pref MCs. With the exception of the Taylor Made irons, the others all felt great. I had never hit Mizunos and loved the MP 53, but found the MP 59 to be a little clicky or harsh when hit off –center. But, we're talking very minor differences in feel. I'd recommend anyone in this market (borderline player/game improvement) give these three makers a try. Great stuff.

I settled on the i20s as they fit my eye, offered the bounce and leading edge that best fit my swing, felt great (couldn't tell the difference from the top forged clubs at all), and they were the most forgiving and longest of all the contenders. These things are like butter and the ball just goes and goes with an effortless feel.

One recommendation for any club buying novice like me – get fitted by someone who knows what he's talking about. If nothing else, it's a great experience and a chance to talk club tech with someone who knows a lot. Prior to today, I owned 1 set of clubs and bought those off the rack. For the i20s, I started with the stock CFS shafts after warming up. I was skying the ball and had my normal dispersion pattern (don't have the numbers on dispersion, but it wasn't good). The pro then had me take a few swings with a wood. My swing speed with the driver was right around tour avg – 114mph or so. He then showed me my swing speed with the 7 iron – up to 98mph. Fairly well above tour avg (92mph?). I was swinging relatively hard with my irons. He then set me up with an X100 shaft and asked me to dial it down a touch. I went about 80%, but better synched my arms to my core and the swing speed only dropped to 93mph. Subsequent swings were right around there. The smash factor actually improved, I trapped the ball and found the center or the club consistently. Between an improved swing, a great club head and the proper shaft mix, I started to flight the ball properly and my dispersion was halved. Just a great experience. Can't wait to get the set delivered.

Anyway, I highly recommend the i20 irons and make sure you get the right shaft for your swing. I'm sure most here think this is obvious advice, but I'm not a terrible golfer and I knew (know) very little about shafts and the benefits of club fitting. I never knew what a difference it could make, but shaft changes can produce immediate and definite benefits. My 2 cents.

I hope we get some good weather in about 10 more days….

Can anyone comment on the differences between the CFS shaft and the KBS? I currently game KBS regulars in the TM R11's. Driver swing speed is 97mph, dispersion pattern is pretty tight. 6 hdcp.

Hit the i20 with the KBS regular indoors at a local shop and it felt great, really liked the lighter swing weight. Not sure I need to special order the KBS or just go with the stock CFS.

Thanks in advance!

I tried them both in the i20 & s56.Both shafts felt vey similar & they were close to the same trajectory.I'll be getting fitted this weekend on a Flight scope to get some numbers.

Are your R11's KBS Tours or KBS Tour 90's? I thought the set came with Tour 90's

Makes a difference

Got mine today! 5-UW +1/2" yellow dot KBS stiff. Had time to hit a chilly small bucket and I am psyched. Great straight flight, high but piercing into a headwind. Beautiful at address with no offset in the shorter irons. Can't wait to get them on the course.

Ordered mine yesterday while playing in the rain and Wind. i20's yellow dot 2 degrees strong to decrease the bounce reg flex with white grip. Confirmed irons will be shipped next wed - and should arrive here in calif. next Friday.....Now that's service with a custom order. Also ordered the 3 & 4 hybrid - project x black 5.5. My Titleist are now going to be sold on the auction block. Need to demo the driver before I buy one for sure- lot's of good choices right now - But the titleist driver has got to go as well.

Love the pics thanks

Though much is taken much abides;
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are;

Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

Well forgive me Titleist...but I ordered a set yesterday from Discount Dan's. 3-PW, yellow dot, KBS Tour shafts. If it works out I will have to figure out what to do with a set of AP2 712's. Going to restrict myself to the irons...I like the Titleist Vokey wedges and the 910 series woods and the way they have been hitting for me to not going to think beyond irons only.

SWEET BABY JESUS. That is a SICK set-up. I don't think I'll be getting the driver or 3-wood, but the hybrid has a great shot at finding it's way into the bag. It sets up downright perfect..

Those Rustique's look great. I think I may go with the Black Nickel Tour S in my gap wedge. Other than that, I need to stop......

Love the i20 set up! Thanks for the pics. Looking at a very similar bag myself this season, albeit with two hybrids. Currently undecided about whether to go with the i20 wedges or the Tour S.
thanks! i really like the wedges they are super versatile around the greens - 52 is a perfect 115 yd club and 58 a 95-100 yd club for me

@featherbed...thinking of going rustiques myself with this set, did you already have your mind made up on tour S wedges over the i20 wedges or was there something that swayed you?
i suppose i had a bias going in based on the design of the club - i preferred the look, feel and bounce characteristics of the tour s over the i20

i did test both down here in miami - the i20 wedges are a bit more forgiving on full shots but had a little too much bounce for my liking around the greens. also they have a bit of a muted feel - i liked the feedback a bit better from the tour s wedges.

previously i was playing old cleveland 588 wedges - and this has been a positive change for me

I'm thinking of ordering the i20 wedges (SW and LW) with either a tour or an L grind just to try something different. I have my final fitting session tomorrow ...
