Went out to the Callaway Inviational this morning.
Its was free, what could be better?

Great pics, I saw Charley Watson leaving yards on the table. Was that the main range at Pebble, I have never been there but everyone I talk to says it's really a terrible practice facility.

it was chilly in the morning, but i wear shorts and a polo pretty much everyday, and i wasnt cold.

being local has its benifits

Pebble's range pretty much sucks. All the Pebble Beach courses have crappy ranges.

The only thing wrong with it is that it's not located right at the course, but about a quarter mile away. With proper time management it shouldn't be a problem.

I read in an article that it is a normal puter shaft. Just his dad wrapped colored twine around it then put a heat shrink film around the twine so that it would stay protected.

I am pretty sure they are the new prototype seamless ProV1 or 1x balls all it says is titleist and the model(I think)

Every manufacturer puts their prototype balls in plain white sleeves like that. Go to any Tour event and you will see those sleeves and boxes all over the place.

I played Pebble last November and agree with the comments so far about the range. It is 1/4 mile away, and yes, it is small and was soggy when I was there. The range at Poppy Hills is better. I've never played Spyglass so can't comment on that one. And Spanish Bay doesn't even have a range, just a chipping/putting green.

 

The white box on that umbrella is probably the new Pro v1x ball that the pros put in play a few weeks ago. There are some pics of it floating around here somewhere. It's the one with the alignment arrow and "Pro V1X" in the middle of the arrow.

Yeah, I'm with you on this one. Prior to the packaging being completed and after USGA and R&A approval, tour pros will test new balls. We're on the same page.
