It's both "done" and not "ready."

Clear as mud.
It is 100% done and ready. I heard he has some other business to take care of before focusing on the venue to release the book and media.
Is he moving his facility to the new place?

The "book" is not finished, but the manuscript is. Mostly.

And no, Geoff is not moving his facility. I just met with him in Georgia the Tuesday of Masters week. He'll let this board know when he's ready to move forward. And while there is truth in some earlier posts about golfers not being able to learn to swing a golf club effectively from information read in a book, a book can greatly enhance one's understanding of the golf swing (for example, understanding the intricacies of "stall & flip" versus the modern, rotational golf swing.) Quality video from GJ to accompany the chapters should be a nitrous oxide boost to the book's gas.

Hardcover release first. An ebook perhaps later, at Geoff's discretion.

Word up.

I'm officially on the record as "never gonna happen" with this thread going on for another year with wordmixer j#!cking off the wrx populus with promises of future GJ book grandeur. Every time I see this thread pop to the top of the Instruction forum, it makes my eyes roll.

Let me clear a few things up here. First of all, the book project is absolutely for real and disclosure of its existence and progress was never meant to mislead anyone or to create hype for sales purposes. Anyone who knows Geoff would know that that's not his style. Geoff is not motivated by money in the least...especially with regard to this project. He's a one-man-band, with no assistants and no entourage, and that's the way he likes it. Teaching and helping golfers to improve their games is his passion.

I know first-hand that the book exists because I was asked by Geoff to be one of a select few test-readers. I have read the manuscript in its entirety several times and have contributed in the form of minor stylistic edits and other recommendations. Wordmixer is a talented writer and has culled and formatted Geoff's thoughts into an extremely informative, entertaining, and easy to read style.

It is not Geoff's intention for this book to simply be an instruction manual of his golf swing concepts, fundamentals, and related teachings. If that were the case it likely would have been published already. Geoff's intention is for the book to be more than that. He wants to share the story of his "journey," and to credit events and individuals that ultimately led to his transformation from promising young player into the "Slicefixer." It will be unique in that there is also a website and video component that will be an integral and complimentary source of instructional information.

In the end, this is Geoff's book and he and he alone, will be the one to determine when it's released. I can assure you all that he is not going to do that until he is certain that it is complete to his satisfaction. Unfortunately, especially for those who have long been anticipating its release, there have been a number of events in Geoff's life that have forced the book project to the "back burner" for the time being. I can assure you all that Wordmixer and I have been emphatically encouraging Geoff to get 'er done as soon as possible.

That may be true, but the bumping for this book by a few select posters, the promise of its pursuit of perfection, and the insistence that this guy is the second coming who relies only on himself and does not care about money?

It's advertising!

If GJ wants to sponsor the site and bump for his book that way, great, but until then, this thread should be closed and the constant blue-balling stopped.

dpb what's it looking like? Another year or so?
It's totally up to Geoff so there's no way for me to tell. In my view, as far as the actual written manuscript goes, it could be sent off to a publisher pretty much "as is" in less than a month, though I'm not so sure where he stands with the website development and video links.

Well, you are entitled to your opinion...although I'm not so sure why it would be important to you. Are you one of the owners of GolfWRX?

By the way, Geoff has absolutely nothing to do with "bumping" this thread, and I can assure you that he couldn't care less one way or the other.

Lame post. If it were advertising it would be the worst advertising campaign in history. You seem to suggest that GJ is trying to create 'buzz' around the book - I assure you this is not the case. Also, with respect to sponsorship, I think GJ has done enough for this site with his numerous contributions. I think it is important (and very often overlooked and under appreciated - think Monte Scheinblum etc.) to realize that these pros are making contributions to the site and golfers without being paid. Without people like this the website would not be what it is.

If you are so sure it's not ever coming out, why bother clicking on the thread? Also, I am not sure how Geoff could be asked to sponsor something like this thread when he has literally nothing to do with it. You can't post or make threads to advertise your product, and Geoff has not done so here.

Also, people who are complaining, remember when you buy it (and most of you wouldn't bother posting or looking at the thread if you weren't somewhat interested in the book coming out) you will be ratifying everything Geoff did with your dollars.

I'll be honest, I have no idea if or when this book will see the light of day, but I can tell everyone for 100% certain that these posts complaining about it aren't gonna make it come out quicker. Also, I can preemptively tell you not to click on this thread expecting there to be announcement that it's about to come out, because it ain't gonna be out for a while.

Just tell them Monte wrote the book then noone will whine about advertising. I made the mistake of bringing that up with his last for sale videos and was burned at the stake when I dare challenge Monte.

The mistake you made was not knowing the rule, and it's the same mistake you are making here. It's not against the rules for other people to start threads about other products. When people make threads about Sean Foley's stuff, why aren't you on there saying that Foley is breaking the rules and getting free advertising?

Monte/other instructor's success on here seems to bring about quite a bit of bitterness and jealousy, I don't know why and I don't really care; if someone else's success causes so much bitterness it is what it is and no one is going to change your mind. But just because you feel that way doesn't mean they are violating the rules, because they aren't.
