There was a book circulating that was 49 pages long called Slicefixer's Encyclopedia Texarkana. I have it saved as a PDF. Can't remember where I got it from..

 

That wasn't a book. That was a collection of posts from the board. The original version was 49 pages. Someone condensed it into a shorter document and made it more readable.

 

It was also acknowledged that there were some items in there that weren't quite stated the way Geoff intended that could lead someone down the wrong path.

 

I think a lot of very well-meaning people read that document and tried to apply it to their game. But being as it was never written as an instruction document, the chances of getting any tangible results out of it were close to nil. I heard Geoff himself say that literally every single person who came to him after reading the original ET could not execute the 9-3 drill correctly.

The Encyclopedia Texarkana PDF is a compilation of Geoff's GolfWRX posts that was put together by a fellow WRXer. It is not the book being discussed here.

 

Several years back Geoff collaborated with a friend and professional writer (Wordmixer here on GolfWRX) to write a book. Together they completed a manuscript. Geoff asked me to be a test reader and Wordmixer sent me several versions of the manuscript. We went back and forth for a while with edits and revisions.

 

I enjoyed the read and thought it was a nice concept in terms of the format. It is not only a comprehensive instructional manual from his basic grip and set-up all the way to follow through, short game, and how to adjust for certain ball flights, specialty shots, etc., but in between the instructional chapters are clever and entertaining anecdotes where Geoff shares the wisdom he's acquired from lifetime around the game. He also had plans to provide video links to demonstrations of the content, but I don't think he ever got too far along with that.

 

Ultimately Geoff decided not to publish for several reasons. He figured there would be limited commercial viability and that the upside wasn't worth the cost & effort and time away from teaching. He also had reservations about putting all of his instructional theories and techniques out there to be copied and bastardized. Geoff can be a bit eccentric; think Mac O'Grady lite...lol!

 

I feel lucky to possess the content and refer back to it often as I believe Geoff is one of the best and most knowledgeable instructors in the game. His intellect, talent, and extensive experience as a player & teacher along with an obsessive personality combine to make a pretty formidable package as an instructor.

 

In the end, I think Geoff is happy enough to have everything memorialized in manuscript form to pass on to his son Grayson who is a solid player currently in college. I'd love to see him put it out as an eBook, but seriously doubt he'll ever publish in any format.

My sister ghost writes for a living. I think I'll give Geoff a call and see if they might team on a book. She wrote for a few athletes like Martina Navratiova and Marion Jones.

For such a fresh newcomer you seem to have a pretty big axe to grind. Calling a well known and well respected swing coach "BS" is a not so subtle personal attack from someone that hasn't been a member for very long. All this vitriol about another member that hasn't been around in several years. A rather unusual action that possibly makes your motivation seem less than honorable or helpful. Bashing someone anonymously from behind such a new account is really sort of strange don't you think? Not saying this new account shares the same IP address as another member on the forum.....but it wouldn't be the first time that sort of thing happened here.
