Hi Jay. Shopping around is always the best bet, and I realise that each retailer will operate according to different margins, but it's the cost price that Titleist charge for shaft upgrades that really get me. They never seem to take in to account the shaft that they WON'T have to provide.

It was only 8 years ago when I bought a Cobra driver with a Speeder 757 upgrade, which cost about £65. Materials haven't gotten THAT much more expensive, and shafts aren't THAT much better than they were a few years ago. It's simply an enormous con, because they know people will be willing and gullible enough to pay for shafts that they can see being played on tour.

I have to be totally honest here, I really don't know the cost prices to Titleist from the shaft manufacturers, and the cost prices from Titleist to the retailers, so I can't comment on whether the charges are extortionate or not. I don't use Titleist fitters actually, I have my own independent fitter, and I know that he would charge me about £300 for a Graphite Design Tour DI, with a surefit or Taylormade adaptor. That includes grip of choice, spined etc. And thats directly from Graphite Design, as he has an account. So maybe its the shaft manufacturers at fault, not the OEM's? Not sure myself.

So the first came and went without anybody reporting they recieved their 913... looks like next week it is. It would've been great if Titleist sent out the pre-orders early as a thank you to everybody, while still holding out retail release until the second week of November.
GolfTown had 913's for sale on the 31st of Oct. No "thank you" give, but rather a middle finger...
That's pretty much what I got when I showed up at my GolfTown and realized they were already selling them. Kinda pointless to preorder if your gonna get them after the fact.
I am sad for you

I preordered mine (trought GTown) and it arrived on october 31st. Very great driver and awesome shaft so far I really enjoy it

Except for the fact that GolfTown doesn't carry X flex...that still boggles me. They should carry 1 or 2 of each stock offering in X flex for the sims etc to get a feel . I know its a small population that needs X. but it's no excuse.

I don't think X flex is "stock", they offer stock shafts in X flex but it's considered a custom order.

Just got my 913 D3 yesterday. Ordered through discount dans. I ordered a 8.5* d3 w/ ahina 70s x5ct. Upcharge wasn't bad at an additional $190.00 over the retail $399.00 price tag. Got fit on trackman yesterday. The 913 was +4 mph over my 910 in the same configuration. Felt very nice...:)
I had the same experience albeit on a Foresight GC. I was at 166.5mph with my 910 & 170.6mph with the 913. Both were D2's at 8.75 degrees. This was using my current shaft which is a Motore Speeder 6.1X

I got ya but how do you know you need an X flex shaft ( and which one ) if they don't carry them. That's my complaint. If they offered fitting like such, I actually might buy a club from there.

Shaft change?
Using the RIP in the 910 and we tested the 913 with the RIP for comparison purposes, but my numbers were slightly better with the Mits Blue so I'll give that a try.

I don't generally buy the hype, but do buy performance when I can tell the difference. I think Titleist has a winner here...:)

One other thing I forgot to mention, my ball striking is generally pretty good, so when I hit it a little lower lower on the club face and/or towards the toe we looked at the numbers and The numbers only dropped a few yards. The sweet spot was noticeably bigger in the 913. Can't wait to see it in action on the course...:)

Really? I tested my 910 up against my new 913 with three different shafts alternating between them, I noticed absolutely no difference at all between the 910 and 913. Very slightly different feel, but no more speed, no more distance, and very little more performance. Sorry, but for me personally, it was a waste of money changing, so quite disappointed.

why pay for the 190.00 upcharge for the ahina 70s when the D+ is supposed to be the latest and greates from diamana? and you get it for no up charge

Because I hit the d+ and it felt like crap in comparison to the ahina I had played previously in my 910. No need to force my self to like something to save money and be ultimately disappointed in the end. Also I saw great numbers with the ahina so to me $190.00 extra seems like a no brainier.

played my first round today with the 913D3 9.5 with my motore speeder shaft....well titleist has done it again, another great driver, that just flat out performs! it was kinda cool today in so. cal, temps in the low 60's, light breeze, and very soggy/muddy fairways from the overnight rain(mud balls every hole)...was very skeptic on the first tee since the 913D3 looked just like my 910D3...but man this new head is long! felt much hotter coming off the face...compared to the 910 the 913 felt more "metallic feeling" if that makes sense, not louder to me but just a different feel, thats kinda nice. i was purposely hitting 2 or 3 balls off every par 4&5, even on tight holes where in a normal round i use my hybrid just for placement...even with the muddy fairways and cool temps i was driving the ball about the same as normal conditions, which surprised the crap out of me...on a really short par 5(really should be a 4) 490 plus downhill about 30 yards i hit a pretty solid drive and immediately after i hit it i said under 200 yds would be good, since it was getting dark and my hands felt like i needed handwarmers...drove up to my ball and it was 165 yds from the pin, and my ball was plugged! that was it!, with no wind that just confirmed to me that the 913 is picking up more ballspeed then my 910...went to the next tee box just to hit one more drive, to see if it was a fluke or not...i teed it up and aimed right over a series of fairway bunkers(dogleg right) carried it and was left with 80 yards to the green...normal play on that hole was always to aim at the left edge of those bunkers and draw it off and leave myself with 100 yds in. so needless to say after one round in less then perfect conditions, i'm very impressed with the 913.

And there have been people on here bigging the 913 up constantly, over and over again! Strange that they are allowed to crow, but you are fed up with my negative postings then!! Maybe there are some on here that keep crowing about it because they have an auterior motive, and they are Titleist account holders. But I am more than happy to hear peoples positive experiences with any Clubs/equipment. However, as Golfwrx is an open forum, where free speach is encouraged, to talk about good and bad experiences so if you don't like what I have to say, then I suggest you don't read it, and join the mutual admiration society.

Got fit on trackman yesterday. The 913 was +4 mph over my 910 in the same configuration. Felt very nice... :)
Shaft change?
Using the RIP in the 910 and we tested the 913 with the RIP for comparison purposes, but my numbers were slightly better with the Mits Blue so I'll give that a try.

I don't generally buy the hype, but do buy performance when I can tell the difference. I think Titleist has a winner here... :)
COOL!!!

Thanks for the reply GolfYoda.
One other thing I forgot to mention, my ball striking is generally pretty good, so when I hit it a little lower lower on the club face and/or towards the toe we looked at the numbers and The numbers only dropped a few yards. The sweet spot was noticeably bigger in the 913. Can't wait to see it in action on the course... :)
I think I speak for everyone when I say sell your 913 so we can quit reading about your disappointment. Saying it once or twice, okay we get it. You're beating a dead horse. Believe it or not maybe the 913 does work for some!?!?!
If you don't like what I have to say, thats fine, don't read it then, no-one is forcing you!!! If I have bad experiences, then I am free to post to whomever I like, if you are offended or hurt by that, then don't read my posts! End of.....
I wish you would end the story, we get it! yours is shorter. Maybe you got a bad head because I just played 2 18 hole rounds this W/E with mine and it's clearly longer than my 910 (5-10 yds) with a much stronger flight and feels awsome.

You've been talking yourself into being disappointed for 3 weeks...

Sorry, but everybody's experience will be different. That's why there are fans of so many different brands. They all make great clubs, you have to get what works for you.

LOL

I'm not sure what part of my post you are replying to, but I think you wasted a lot of time and energy getting on top of the soap box for free speech.

By the way, I am a Titleist account holder. I also have accounts with and sell: Callaway, Taylor Made, Cleveland, Nike, Yes, Adams, Wilson, Orlimar, Ping, and I'm probably missing others. All great companies that make great equipment.

And I think you have wasted alot of time keeping an eye on my posts over the last few weeks, as you appear to be somewhat pre-occupied with them!!! But thats your business if you have nothing better to do. But lets get one thing straight. If I have anything to say about my experiences, be it good, bad or indifferent, I will express them as many times as I see fit, especially if somebody new talks or asks about their experiences. And if people get fed up with them, then they are free to not read them if they so wish, they can even point it out to me, but If I want to post them, then I will! Now, instead of perversely stalking my threads, perhaps you should use your time more productively. You really need to calm down and chill out a little, instead of idly picking at peoples threads. Its also a pity you don't pick up on the positive threads that I have posted on here. I fully understand why you are not going to talk in a derigotory way about Clubs or equipment you sell, thats natural, but my experiences are from an independent without financial bias. You can say what you want to say of course, as you are free to do so, but you will not stop me from saying what I have to say either, no matter how many times I have to say it. I do hope I have made that clear for you.
