Was at the door when I came for lunch. Great service again from DD. Playing tomorrow cant wait!

Very nice! Hope you will let us know how she performs? I had mine come into my Clubfitter today too. But, I have to wait for it because he is putting in a Matrix 6m3, which should be with him tomorrow he said. I didn't want to order it with that shaft from Titleist as they said it could take up to 8 weeks to arrive, so my fitter, who is a Matrix account holder, ordered the 6m3 seperately. That way, he can spine it, and Swingweight it, just how I want it.

I hit a demo today at golfsmith on the monitor. 8.5 degree D3 with stock Diamani D+ stiff shaft. With my last two drivers I always had more spin than I would like, around 3400-3900 rpm, with SS average of 105. I even tested the 910d3, and razr fit with various shafts over the last couple of months, and the numbers were pretty much the same. I hit 15-20 drives today, the highest spin rate was 2900, average around 2200-2400. I even had three below 2000 rpm, which I have never, ever done before on any monitor. The Diamani D+ was very smooth, and fit me just fine. Last professional driver fitting I had, the Projext X 6.0, and Kali 72s performed and felt the best, as I am not a heavy loader.

My 8.5 D3 with the D+ stiff(tipped 1/2") will be here tomorrow so thanks for your findings.
How did the launch angle of the 913 D3 compare with the other drivers given the low spin numbers?

If I remember correctly, my Adams 9015d with Fubuki tour 73 launched somewhere around 15.5 with a good swing. The 913d3 was between 12 and 15.

So I got fitted for the 913 D2 at the UK national fitting centre. Tried a fair few shafts and found a good combo that gave me a good increase over my current stock 910 driver.

Thing is, once I got back home and looked at the 913 shaft chart someone posted onine here on the forums, the chart they were using at the fitting centre was the older one for the 910 with less options. I'm a little worried they might not have had some of the exotic shafts there to try with me - I did say to have me try any and all shafts.

I ended up with the Pro Launch Red in stiff but the spin was still a tad high. Would something like the Tour AD DI maybe have given me lower spin?

Was a great driver tho - just need to make a decision on the shaft....

Thanks

Hi

Hope that you don't mind me chipping in here. I, like you, went for a fitting at the National Fitting centre, but a couple of years ago for the 910. I had alot of problems with Titleist, after they told me they only have a certain number of shafts to fit from. They told me that the shafts they fit from there, fit 99% of people, but they only have about 10% of the shafts they custom offer. I personally couldn't see their argument, but I managed to get them to let me try a few of the exotic shafts, that they had made up for me especially. I would have thought, that if they offer say 80 shafts in their custom offerings, that a National fitting centre would have more than 15 of them there. I was actually fit very poorly there. I really like Titleist clubs, but I would never go there again with such a poor selection of shafts. I now go to an independent fitter, who really dials me in properly.

As for the DI shaft, don't guess, it could be an expensive mistake. If you want to pm me, I would be more than happy to give you the name and address of my fitter who has a far better selection of shafts than Titleists National Fitting Centre. I think he has over 200 different shafts from all the major manufacturers. He will really do the job properly for you.

Mine came into today as well, put the DI in it and BAM! Couldn't be happier, the temp was in the 50's and I was hitting to the same places on the course I hit in July... Can't wait to take this monster to Harbour Town next month :)

Sweet BB.

If anyone can compare it to a TOUR AD DI 6s? Im gaming it so far, best shaft I ever had on a driver.

But curious to comparing the AD DI to the TOUR BB in stiff shaft.

The BB is lower flight, lower spin & slightly less feel. If the DI flight is to high, check out the BB. If the trajectory is good then stick with the DI. The BB will only increase distance if you're currently not optimizing trajectory. They are very very similar shafts, it'd be considered more of a tweak of flight to switch. IF you want a lower flight check out the GD 9003 series. Much lower flight and less spin. The BB looks great but extra tipping of your DI could get similar results.

Anybody know when the 913 weight kit comes out, my Titleist rep didn't do a very thorough fitting, didn't try different swing weights, so I'd like to check out heavier weights.

So got the first round with the new 913 D3 w/GDBB in the bag. As Mark says in the above video it has a diffirent sound than the 910 but its a better sound. Again as he said it feels hotter (though just going by feel alone) than my 910 and I love the BB shaft. Let my playing partner hit it a few times and he absolutely crushed it. I could have sold him the shaft alone on the spot. This is just one round and I wasn't swinging my best but its a keeper for sure and a definite improvement over the 910 which is saying a lot. Looking to get the adams xtd 3 wood and hybrid and Ill have IMO the top performing woods out at this time.

i was in the hunt for a new stick this week and i was pretty much sold on a new razr fit TA driver. I was trying to go all callaway this year to match my new razr forged irons and jaws wedges. I did hit several TA's and a couple of Ping answer drivers... and a couple of 913's. i was blown away by the Titleist 913 D3 driver that i took one home today. It had a very piercing flight and the spin was 200-300 lower than the TA and the Ping. the flight was also straight to a slight fade. I am normally draw the golf ball that occasionally turns into a hook. I also made better contact with the 913 as well with many more sweet spot hits than the other drivers. It just felt right and i knew that i had to take it home even though i had my heart on the callaway. I went with what i think is the absolute best driver i have ever hit. Its that friggin good!!! 9.5 deg D3 with the diamana D+ stiff flex.

I got my D3 7.5 with a D+ 82g today. It is the real deal shaft, same blue color as the real one. It is a sweet driver for sure. I will do a review once I get a few more rounds in but so far so good.

The reality is that for a lot of golfers, simply swapping shafts won't change spin all that much. The major contributors to spin are the the ball you use, the clubheads' loft, your swingspeed, and your angle of attack. If you are able to hold your release of the club then yes the shaft can effect spin. If you cast the club or release it early, the shaft will not have an effect on spin or launch. So it's impossible to tell without seeing your swing.

Went through the fitting Friday. Came up with 9.5 D3 Phenom 70 S. I was surprised I gained significant clubhead speed with a heavier shaft. Rep told me the 913 heads were lighter than the 910's. Launch angle was 11.3-13.8 and spin was 2100-2300 with one ball actually reading 1999 rpm's. What I would give to be 30 years younger with todays technology. So needless to say the 910 is going up for sale.

I've upgraded nearly my entire bag (as has been my norm every year or so) ... but I'm still playing a Titleist 909 driver ... nothing's been able to kick it out of the bag ... plain vanilla simple, classic black pear ... but completely workable.

Thing is, I'm hearing amazing things about the 913. Anyone here go from 909 to 913? Tell me what I should expect ...

I switched from the 909 to 913 and I picked up about 10 yards. Like previously said, it is much more forgiving and it spins less than the 909

i just hit the 8.5 d3 with the stock D+ 72 gram shaft. the shaft feels really good but i think the launch angle was a little too high for me at around 17 degrees. i was getting around 270 carry with that. how much would a 7.5 change the launch angle?
[/quote]

That would depend on the spin rate.....too much spin then the 7.5 will help or a tipped shaft will reduce that or a x shaft as well.
Try some other combinations of stiffer shafts to bring it down.

Spoke with my fitter and he said the DI would send the ball too high as I have a naturally high ball flight. I need a shaft that has a stiffer tip (Oo er).

Struggling to find a place with the AD BB in stock to test and I'd like to try the Oban Kiyoshi too.

Ho hum, decisions decisions...
