Ken Duke

You are a good golfwrx player and you are playing a resort course. The starter pairs you up with Ken Duke, but you do not recognize him, or know his name. Then he says, "I'll play the back tees with you. You mutter under your breath, hit your golfwrx 290 yarder and then watch Ken put it 20 yards behind you. How long before you realize you cannot take him? On the first tee? Or when he is two under after five, and you are still thinking he is a 4 capper who made a couple putts. I think he is a pretty "stealth" pro. (FYI, this did not actually happen)

I suppose it depends on which weekend you catch ol' Ken. He can look like a 4 on occasion.

Yea that's what people also don't realize... I doubt a 4 but I know a certain pro that played my place and shot 74. Same guy won on tour this year. Difference is he shoots 66 the next day and makes the cut... something your 4 can never do.

I know what the OP is saying though. I played 9 holes a couple months ago with a guy that made it through 2nd stage and missed his card by 2 shots this year. Division 1 All american in college. He hit some of the worst drives I've ever seen from a good player. Worse than anything I've hit in a couple years. I mean we're talking about dead pushes or snipe hooks where you wonder what the hell? The group behind us probably could have never guessed his score. Chips it out sideways 3 times and makes 2 bogeys and a par. Makes 3 birdies and beats up the par 5's... 34. Clipped me by a shot and I drove it well and hit 8 greens. Funny game.

Mr. Duke is a great guy. He is a member at my club, met him a couple times. Good to see him having a very successful year this year.

ive seen Mr Duke hit a few shots at the Canadian Open at Glen Abbey in 09. It was July 24th(friday). Playing what is the par 4 ninth. Hits his driver into the bunker on the right, leaving him 200 yards out in a bunker with a good size lip. Hits a hybird to twelve feet, insane shot. Kind of like the Tiger shot on the 18th. Funniest part of the story is one of his friends is following him does a cowboy "Yeeeeee hawww Kenny Boy, keep 'er up" very very loud. Marshal had to talk to him. Just my little story about a great shot ive seen him hit

A few years back i remember a pro, i think it was Chris Riley, went to a course undercover as some sort of promotional clip to show during a tournament. He played a few holes horribly (on purpose) and then started hitting 300yd drives and making birdies with some random dudes...haha
